Another tip I've found that works great is whoever is the scientist can help the other teammate guarding the pillar by throwing healing bombs over every now and then. You can also heal yourself if things get dicey. I've found that if you don't shoot at the squash sometime he will leave you alone and you can hide behind the pillar. Other times though you just can't do anything.
Just got out of a marathon Squash Boss Hunt (1pm EST) after a few of us grabbed Mic's and decided to stick with our session even though the event had ended...we actually got to invite people in (Xbox One) in order to achieve the four player minimum. I had misspoke in a previous post and I didn't have the Gem hat yet but our team beat Hard mode. Anyway, back to the post, we had major issues with the Plant champions (after picking up candy bucket) spawning/hanging around the Squash. I've played all weekend and have hardly ever had this problem until today. We either had to kill plant champion very quickly or position our selves extremely carefully...it was weird ...it just kept happening. Another bad which was mentioned...you need two zombies on the Stump Guardian to defeat quickly...too many players kept meandering around.
Nailed crazy mode with dream team (pair of toxic brainz and pair of scientist) with just 2 attacks round under 6 minute after squash appearing. Unbelievable !
My tips: 0. Play with friends (to avoid frustration) and use a microphone (if you've) to coordinate !! 1. Team config: Two scientists for healing. The other two is players with big health (super brains, engineer, all-star). Toxic brains if you have one. Pair scientist with each other or with another player so always stays healthy. 2. Never shoot the squash to avoid he's going up. If he go up, try to get/bait squash away from 2nd floor during anchoring if possible. Don't shoot him to prevent he's attacking and kill you (lost the anchor). 3. Attack the guardian (torchwood) from the distance to minimize damage (except for toxic brain). 4. Only the one carry the bucket can eat the candy, toxic brains is the best char as candy holder....communicate that via microphone. Scientist makes sure candy holder full health 5. Attack the squash from distance. If you attack closely, hide when he's about to jump/attack. 6. Observe your team mate health. Heal them while you're attacking. Throw the healing bomb toward the boss so the player that attack closely stay full health and keep attack momentum going. 7. One player (weakest one) can contribute by clear all the plants that attacking your team. They will dead in 1 shot during this sugar rush.
