at first: sorry for my bad english.... 😉
i'm playing GW2 for nearly 1 year now, i'm rank 4711 now.
i used to have a good Team for boss hunt, but 1 of the Players is not interested in playing GW2 anymore, the other one has no Internet Connection at the moment because they moved in a new house, so at the Moment i have to Play with random Teams and that's horrible....
People don't know what to do in the bosshunt, some Play as chomper, most of them leave in the middle of the game and so on...
this is the 3rd time (in all this time i Play GW2) i guess i Play this bosshunt, i managed to win all the other bosshunts (not every bosshunt on crazy), but i never won this one. not a single bosshunt. 😕
the reasons i explained above. but hey, it shouldn't be that difficult
1.) go watch Video on YouTube, there are tons of Videos and after that you know what to do.
2.) don't use Charakters like the Chomper or Rose in bosshunt 🤨
3.) don't leave your Team in the middle of the game
that's just frustrating ☹️
i just would like to win one kings day out bosshunt on simple difficulty, it's not too much to ask for, is it?

It's rough for sure. I've beaten it on all difficulties but it can fail even on normal with bad character choices or people not playing well. Add the random bad luck of the king's movements and other factors, especially the constant freezing, and it's very difficult.
On normal one sunflower can handle it, I've been that sole sunflower, but on any other difficulty I would say use 2 for sure. Corn and Pea Shooters are probably the best for the other roles although Citrons and Torchwoods can work well too. The Torchwood's fire breath is especially good at taking out yeti imps.
Do not use Chompers for this, I can't recommend them even for normal difficulty. Roses and Cacti aren't very good for this on higher difficulties either but are ok for normal.
My main issue with the boss hunts, barring the gnomus brothers, and this one in particular is that this is a very casual and kid-friendly game and then you throw these MMO raid type mechanics for the events which are a massive ramp up in difficulty. I do wish these were explained a little better too. We can see videos and obviously I've met people that have done it or at least know what to do, but having at least a basic explanation of what to do in the event itself would go a long way to end the frustrations felt by many.
Having people bail part way through, people with 4 vanquishes while me as a stuffy flower are sitting on 80 and I was 2nd on vanquishes, grab the spring break item from the fool and don't get after the boss, and ignoring the popsicles make this one a very bad experience for many. When you add in freezing all over and the king suddenly running out of line of sight and wasting valuable seconds during the spring break buff it can be maddening.

Just do it like Popcap does and stop caring about it. It's just a hat.
The poor design once again ruins this boss hunt and their inability to properly playtest it is just another nail in the coffin.
The amount of time i have wasted on this mess is inexcusable. But maybe they fixed it. Maybe they cared and looked at the issues. Maybe the freeze nerf helps. Maybe, maybe i thought.
But no. The Imp is still broken. And no sane person can tell me that i as a player have to use an AI exploit, to kite an enemy in one direction. In a game made for kids. And if i don't use that exploit the event is entirely based on luck. Either the Imp gets close to the Yeti or not. Better luck next time. Only 15-30 minutes wasted. No.
I have tried for at least 20 hours. I have explained it to so many people. I have talked about the Imp issue. Yet i still don't have that hat because of that Imp.
it is broken and not a player issue and does not deserve any more of my time.

I'm sure Popcap play tested it, however, I can nearly guarantee the test team was adults in the same room. Not children who have trouble understanding. I'm sure they had communication but even if they didn't, for an adult to grasp the concept is not hard. More so, if the test team was part of Popcap they likely have inside knowledge on the boss. It is very common for developers to make harder content because to them it is easy, they know what to do. To make something they consider challenging is much harder for everyone else. (Until they figure out the strategies of course.)

I see people complain about the Imp. But, in all my runs on any difficulty not once did we "kite" the Imp. We have let him run around for a few extra seconds or minutes in hope of a more favorable position, but have never exploited the AI. The boss gives plenty of time to beat it, letting the Imp and Yeti move around for a bit is much better than doing another cycle. Most importantly, the Yeti can be killed in as little as 3 cycles but there is time for up to 5. (More on higher difficulties) The team does not need a perfect slushie position to beat the hunt. Heck, even just one good position during the whole hunt should be more than enough to drop him. (Once we got the "perfect" position and had the entire duration to damage the yeti. The corn got two shuck shots on him, a butter barrage and tons of damage, and that was just the corn. He lost over a third of his health that attack.)
We all have problems finding a capable group for boss hunts. If anything that is the flaw here. I have now done 3/4 boss hunts on Craaazy with zero communication with random players. (Squash I was cheated out of because the game kicked us just moments before we dealt the final blow.) When you have a team that knows what to do, most boss hunts are almost too easy. My second Craaazy win for the Yeti was on the first try, nearly no deaths, with plenty of time to spare. (All with a new team I had just joined.) I will say that we did have a Commando Corn and I have no doubt that made a difference. I won't deny that I was very lucky to have a good team, but we did the run despite all of the "luck factors" of the run. And its not like we just had a run of good luck. We could have done another entire cycle with the spare time. Our "luck" could have been drastically worse and we still could have won. Again, I don't deny that finding a capable team is hard and very frustrating. But, a moderately skilled team with good character choice and full understanding of the hunt should be able to beat any of them. (Brothers Gnomus is especially funny because a single skilled player can nearly solo Craaazy.)
