I've always loved Rustbolt. He has been my main Hero way before he became Stomping-Popular. (See what I did there? :D)
I always liked him because of his superpowers.
-Shrinking Ray is awesome when you are behind on the board, since -3 attack usually takes down a dangerous plant to 0 or just 1 attack.
-Cut-down to size is awesome to deal with those pesky giant plants,and just for 1 brain.
-Rock Shield is... OK, but mostly to protect your value-generator zombies. (Kite Flyer, for example)
-And Heroic Health is just awesome. Is like, starting with 25% more HP.
I've also always liked the Hearty cards, their playstyle suits perfectly to mine (Like Weed Spray to kill lots of small plants, Black Hole to regulate the damage income, Armored Zombies that can trade with 2-4 plants each, just to mention some things).
From plants... I like Wall-Knight and Rose.
The Solar class is the most approximate equal of the Hearty in terms of healing and control, so there's that.
I like Guardian and Smarty for the same factor, they are good control classes. Rose has 2 polymorph superpowers, that are essentially a mix of Shrinking Ray and Cut-Down.
Wall-Knight on the other hand, just has many ways to survive to the late game. (Good board clears, plants with high health, Invulnerabily for 1 turn, etc).
Is fairly easy to reach turn 6+ with this guy, where you can start playing your big big plants and tricks.
