I completely disagree. I think your entire post borders on the ridiculous. The quests and prizemap don't force me to log in, they give me something to do when I do log in. BFN is such an amazingly better game than the two previous it makes me wonder if you've played it at all.
The only things that currently bug me are:
1: There should not be limited time costumes. Just add them to the crank machine after the event ends.
2: Rainbow stars. Dump them. We have too much currency already.
3: Nothing should be locked to PVE or PVP. I should be able to get prize bulbs or rainbow stars or whatever else by playing either mode.
Now that didn't feel good did it? Feel free to disagree with me, but no need to be rude and make bold assumptions. It is quite literally a fact that this game prey's on the FOMO, if you truly feel this way.. thats great, good for you. But its undeniable that this has had a negative effect on many others.

I wanted to add/reinforce that I have zero issue spending additional money on the PvZ shooters, and have done so in all 3 games. And I'd much rather them sell cosmetics than abilities or new characters or other elements that other games force you to pay for. The FOMO issue is large and being unable to play at all yesterday due to some connection issues with the game, missed the 2 far right things that reset daily. I think the biggest issues beyond FOMO is all the currencies we have that aren't doing anything for many of us. I actually prefer the new pot/bots/weeds/brown coats system as it means you can't spend a ton of coins on packs and flood the capture point with nothing but coffin zombies and vase weeds from your stock of thousands of the things, but I'd like something for all these coins to do, even minor stuff like spawn bosses in Giddy Park or something.
While I don't have any insight on the internal systems at PopCap and EA, I do know PopCap definitely made money on PvZ2, including a fair chunk of change from me, much less the shooters, PvZ1 after they were acquired, and Heroes. I love me some PvZ so I'd love to see BfN crush the competition and am more than happy to support the devs who as I have stated previously, I really like. I mean, Paladins certainly has a ton of bugs and despite their reputation, Overwatch is hardly free of problems either, so we can expect some issues here too, it just gives bad optics when things rotate through the store so rapidly and we had that feastivus pack as well.
I think the biggest issue is that the game does need work to really feel as good as GW1 & 2 and other MP shooters. It's really close and if they can get the feel and flow of play where more people are really enjoying it, it's going to be amazing. It just feels that it has a lot of hurdles to overcome yet and it's obvious that some people feel resentment about the RL money situation while there are so many things that need to improve. I won't presume to speak for anyone else here, but I for one am going to be sticking around and playing and look forward to the game improving over the next few patches. I do wish they had held off the release as I've stated before, but I am still enjoying the game, problems and all, and I'm hoping to see things improve like we saw in both GW games over time.

I stopped playing quite a while ago and have gone back to GW2. The maps in BFN are as dull as dishwater, ops mode is a complete joke and it just feels and plays like complete trash. There are better games out there to play that actually are fun to play.
- 6 years ago@Iron_Guard8 I agree with your points, as well as many stated by others. I’m still having enough fun to keep returning to the game. I’m mostly in OPs now since Turf Takeover is largely frustrating to the point where I’m actively discouraged from playing it- sometimes due to a getting a team which is completely dysfunctional and the complete lack of the game itself rebalancing teams based on performance. If that system exists it’s thoroughly broken at the moment since I played this morning on a team composed entirely of brand new players (all under rank 50) against a team of seasoned vets and the team rosters went unchanged over and over again.
I’m usually pretty forgiving with this franchise but TT is now largely an experience where the assaulting team steamrolls through capturing points in seconds or the defense forms an unbreakable wall- the prolonged and pitched battles I have come to expect are now a rarity and what used to be one of the longest game modes is now one of the shortest.
@mistincat you may wish to give OPs another try- one of the more recent updates increased the level of difficulty and the number of AI spawns so it’s no longer a boring walk in the park.
