The world-wide release and update is out now!

It's been almost 24 hours for me, and I still haven't been able to play a single game as a plant.

On the other side, I played 30+ games in a row against rank #1 plants. I haven't even come close to losing one yet.

I'll probably be useless next time I actually have to play someone in my range.

p.s. I STILL HATE THE 8 SEGMENT SHIELD. It's maddening to get blocked every third hit. It changes the strategy and usefulness of a lot of cards too.

I think I preferred the 12 segment shield too, but I certainly don't mind it as much as the 5% chance for insta-block.

About the multiplayer thing, I suppose what is happening is that all the low level zombie players are getting immediatelly matched with other low level plant players. But since there are only a few zombie players, compared to plant players (because you don't get zombies till later on), they are all getting matched up before the algorithm gets to the higher levels, son only more plant players are left over to face us veterans. Most veterans will have realized this so nobody is playing plants anymore, thus you will not get matched against high level plant players.

This should balance out once more plant players unlock zombies and realize that by playing zombies you have  less chance of being paired up with a high level player and so there will eventually be more zombie players. Whatever happens, this is a good time to grind those last steps of the ladder, though I would rather they just restarted it completely.

The jump from 12 to 8 seems like a lot to me. I wonder if 10 would be better. Also I think hackers will kill this game launch, it's a shame they didn't address that issue.

this is a common problem with asymmetric games. the main problem is that you are thrust into plants and have to play a few games which unlocks more heroes and cards for them which in turn makes it a lot harder to start off as a zombie. they need to introduce a choice who to start with, and retroactively give plant pairs a few zombie only boosters.

I would have expected the game design to create an alternate tutorial for zombies and just randomly start people off as either plants or zombies so as to even the playing field a bit.

a short term solution can be for ranked you choose one zombie and one plant deck and then when you are paired you use one of them randomly. this will actually be pretty good as people will want to have good decks for both. but there has to be some type of punishment for straight conceding a game since then people will just concede whenever they are playing their weak deck.

It's a bit of a joke coming from EA, an indie company maybe but not EA. They had limited releases in a few countries, surely they would've been able to roll this out better.

In an attempt to have similar ranks battle each other, they have done the complete opposite and made higher ranked players unable to play plant heroes and having to resort to fighting as zombie heroes only;  fighting newbie plant heroes with basic cards.

I've been feeling bad for the plant heroes and i tend to play no cards for the first few rounds. Quite comical.
