[Theory] The Gnomes are Watching
This just hit me yesterday. The Gnomes are watching and assisting the Plants and the Zombies throughout every battle. What evidence do I have? The hints.
To start off, one hint says, "Nobody knows who built the portals, but Crazy Dave and Dr. Zomboss are putting them to good use." So the two major leaders of this eternal struggle just somehow happened to each get their hands on one of these mysterious portals? Or were they given to them by a higher power, the Gnomes.
The second hint that tipped me was one about Kernel Corn's Butter Barrage ability, saying that the sight of the butter raining down "always makes us hungry." who is us? You'd probably think it's just the devs putting in a few words, but I think it could only be the Gnomes.
The third and final hint, the one that REALLY got me thinking said "Question. Have you ever seen a singularity up close?" Now, who else have we heard that's ever said that. Oh, right! King Gnomus asks us the same exact thing during Infinity Time.
