@Iron_Guard8 I was actually thinking of making a post like this, since I still really enjoy BfN, and I wanted to share what I really liked about the game (and what could be added from BfN if a future shooter was made as well). Instead I will share my ideas here, you did hit on a lot of the points I liked about BfN as well.
Things I like about BfN
- New Characters: The new characters were fun to try out, especially when the game first released. I still really like the new characters and sort of wish they got added to the previous shooters, although that would not really make sense. I was really looking forward to trying out the new characters that never got released, such as Iceberg Lettuce.
- Upgrade System: I do find equipping upgrades useful and fun. Previous shooters had character or weapon upgrades, but they were more generic, which is fine but there were not too many choices. Having many more upgrades to choose from is actually lots of fun and really cool to try out. The character upgrades provide for lots of different playstyles and gives players lots of choices of how they want to boost their characters.
- The Free-Roam Areas: In previous shooters, there was not that much storyline. Now, there were hours of entertainment just by doing the story mode, but unfortunately there are not that many benefits to heading back to your regions after you have fully completed them. Even then though, they were so well designed and I do not mind heading back sometimes.
- Prize Maps: The Prize Maps were always exciting to check out, seeing the new influx of items and working on buying all of them. I always found the need to try and collect all of the items. It was a shame that the Prize Maps just ended up repeating, but that said, if the Prize Maps changed each year, those players who missed out on the items from earlier Prize Maps should be able to receive them somehow.
- Reviving: As a player who loves reviving and will actually go out of their way to do so, I really like the reviving system. Being able to move around (a limited amount), as well as chipping in to revives for shared revives, and getting decent XP is really cool. Some character upgrades such as Super Saviour make reviving even easier again. I did not actually know about the jump revive technique from the older shooters, until after the game released.
There are more things I enjoy about this game, despite the game's overall downfall (cancellation of content updates), but those points are the main ones.
