things that aren't really important but I'd like them in the game please

I thought of some random things that don't need to be added to BFN but I thought they'd be cool little things to have, here's the list of them.

-Ability to change colour of the multiplayer portal

This is something that nobody would really care about, but it allows players to customize their game even further without mod tools, simple to add as well, just put a menu in the mystery portal menu, similar to the region picker menu, but just let it pick the colour for the portal instead. Give players a colour picker, colour hex code thing and RGB values and that's all that really needs to be done, no more boring blue portal that we've had for the past 4 years, hello orange portal!

-All modes and maps in singleplayer

Please, if anything from this list is gonna be added, PLEASE let it be this, I really want to play battle arena without waiting half an hour or more for some people to join, I don't care if the CPUs commit suicide or have crazy aim like they did in the previous PvZ shooter, I just want to play battle arena and other modes without the horde of grand master 5 roses bullying me.

-Be less heavy handed towards XP farms

This one is more of a personal issue I have with the game, all the founders got to have fun and max all characters and get millions of coins in a couple of hours at most, but the people buying the game at release get none of that fun, the best method I know of regarding XP farming is ops, and even that's slow (just over 2k XP for 10-15 minutes of boring repeated garden/graveyard ops waves, keep in mind most levels past super elite 4 take over 8k XP to get through), so please, stop being so heavy handed on XP farms and just let people mess around with them, you were fine with the flag of power XP farm back in GW2, so why aren't you fine with the same sort of stuff in this game Popcap?

-Make existing hats spectrums

Once again, another customization related thing, but this time I just want to have more colour options for my hats, surely it isn't that hard to just throw in some new (recoloured) models and the spectrum colour picker onto a hat that already exists right? And while you're at it, spectrum COSTUMES would also be pretty cool.

And that's about it, also, this thread isn't meant to be super serious or anything (getting into a heated debate about the mere thought of a portal colour picker would be silly, so don't bother), I'm just throwing out random thoughts I had, what do you lot think of my suggestions?

I like it! I wouldn’t mind the color in costumes but only if I can change it. If they just do the gold, silver,etc, then no think you. I just wasn’t a fan of it.

1. Yes! I also enjoyed pressing abilities or firing weapons as I entered portals in GW2 and wish I could see the animations the same when I enter BfN portals. Now (for instance), if I enter the portal as Nightcap and time it so my Fung Fu activates just as I cross into the portal, I can hear my Fung Fu at the vortex screen but can’t see it happening. I hope this makes sense.
2. Agreed. Solo/Private Play is a must.
3. Agreed. It also seems playing solo Ops (PvE region based) awards far less than the portal/multiplayer Ops. This should be adjusted and if farming or xp is going to remain so guarded, an increase in xp for Ops should be applied to both solo and multiplayer.
4. Don’t care about hats but not opposed.

@Sammichu I would LOVE to be able to customise the plant & zombie bases in some way, really miss that feature that we had with the backyard!

Obviously want solo / private play & yes, XP could certainly use a boost I think in many possible ways & I really like the idea of spectrum skins & hats as it would be nice to have a bit more variety.

And speaking of the skins etc, you've given me a (probably silly!) idea - similar to the pie hunt, I've decided I'd like a "Find The Missing Zombie Shoes Hunt"! 🤣

@dwooten77 I wasn't a fan of the reskin hats in GW2 either, but that's not what I meant, what I meant in the original post was to make hats that already exist on the game into spectrum hats, like the leaf cadet hat isn't a spectrum hat at the time of posting, but Popcap could make it into a spectrum hat, do you understand what I'm getting at here?

@spIash_damage I remember back in GW2 when I went into the multiplayer/mystery portal as citron I'd almost always go into ball form and use the spindash to enter the portal, only to see my citron in the portal screen with the spindash particles a few seconds later, having characters float around in the portal would certainly make waiting a little less boring, heck, maybe even allow players to use gestures or emotes whilst they're in the portal, so that people in groups can communicate without needing VOIP or without exiting the portal.

And whilst people are on the topic of xp, maybe resources might need a quick look at? Because trying to get tacos after I've opened all chests and beaten all quests is boring, and it was the reason it took me around a week to get the pink acorn costume once I had finally unlocked it. Same goes for badges and marshmallows, those are also pretty boring to get without quests or chests to sort out.

@Sammichu I must agree with your point on the XP farms and solo/private play. The other items would increase the Quality of Life in the game, but are not needed. If the developers made it easier for characters to get XP, than at least they may want to consider how much XP for a prize bulb (they shouldn't increase it, however, if they did, not by much).

@TheSprinter85 Yeah, the whole point of this post was to point out things that don't really *need* to be added to the game, but would be nice to have, hence the awkwardly long title of this thread lol.
And you mentioning the solo/private play thing also makes me kind of want solo stuff in the multiplayer portal, similar to how it was in GW2, I don't want to sit through multiple loading screens and (skippable) cutscenes just for a game of suburbination vs CPUs.

What bothers me is some people spend dozens of hours on PvE/100%ing them and get jack diddly for doing so. NOTHING but the option to BUY a character skin.

When I completed all PvE, Rux’s Store wasn’t open for business so it didn’t bother me as much but now that Legendary customizations are being offered on the store, I think the Grand Prize’s for PvE areas should be awarded when you 100% any given map (the option to buy should remain in tact until maps are completed).

@Sammichu I agree with you, they are not necessary for gameplay in any way, but are nice for improving gameplay. Same goes with how customisations work!

I've found an effective way to get a lot of XP is to go onto a crowded giddy park server where the plants are camping at the spawn gate and use space stations crater maker on them XD
