It's decent. I'm having fun with it but there are still other issues like spawn points being too far away at times. At least I haven't spawned facing away from things and about to sprint off a cliff by accident like we had for awhile back in founders.
I was honestly surprised how bad 8v8 felt. I didn't expect it to feel so drastically different, but so many one-sided matches made it very tedious to play. They still happen of course but not to the oddly high amount of them we had in 8v8.
They usually stay pretty full in my experience. They do fluctuate as people leave and return but when I play, mostly early evening on PC NA East, they are consistently at least 10v10.
The TTK changes do feel better to me overall. People still sprint away fairly often but it's less likely these days and I feel less reliant on my abilities, rather than my primary weapon, to get vanquishes which I'm glad for. I like using abilities but loathe feeling like they're crutches. I don't like TTKs where it takes 10 minutes to down someone, but also don't like it when you get sneezed on and fall either.
My number one issue, and this is for all PvP modes, is general maneuvering. I feel some characters are too slow or too fast without sprinting, and while I don't hate sprinting, I wouldn't mind if it was removed either. Also, fix hit registration already!
I played a bit when the team sizes were reverted to 12v12 and found it to once again be fun to play with the capture time and TTK adjustments seeming to be just right for the original team sizes whereas they upset the balance quite severely with 8v8 making a steamrolling attacking team commonplace.
Unfortunately though, the months of deliberately avoiding the 8v8 version of TT has become ingrained and I've more or less stopped playing that game mode because every time I see it on the selection menu I can't help but immediately think of the attcking team steamrolling through the objectives in less time than it took for a defender to respawn and sprint back.
I know it's better now when both teams are working the objective but I haven't been able to shake the bad impression and feelings of frustration that I picked up while the developers collected enough data to evaluate their multi-part update, which is really a shame because I enjoyed TT before the 8v8 version but now I can't seem to convince myself I want to play it again now that 12v12 has returned and I know for a fact that I prefer the mode with the original team sizes.
