Town Hall Challenge

Any tips for new town hall challenge? Yeti King. Haven’t found a decent group yet. But if tips can be shared I can try talk people through the fight. It’s definitely a challenge from what I’ve played so far.
  • It's a rough one for sure. I've done it on all difficulties but even then it's easy to fail.

The main keys are having healing to cancel the frozen effects and coordinating taking down the popsicles quickly when they're up, and finally the person that takes the power up from the jester needs to ensure that the other players are in the aura and get to the king as fast as possible. If you have the powerup do NOT husk hop over the king if you're a kernel corn. I've seen that far too often and it's beyond annoying, it can ruin the run.

I recommend 2 sunflowers and especially Vampire Flower (since they can take care of themselves very well) and Stuffy Flower (since when she defeats zombies she creates heal stars at the impact point). Rainbow Flower pots for the sunflowers are excellent since they constantly emit heal stars and healing breaks the freeze effects, making healing crucial in this hunt.

Getting on the roofs can really help keep some of the damage off you. Pea Shooters and Corn are best at this. Citrons have the ball form speed bonus and lots of health. I've beaten it with all characters but I can't recommend Chompers, Roses, or Cacti for this one on higher difficulties. Torchwood is solid and the breath of fire attack is great vs. the yeti imp swarms!

Thanks heaps for the information really appreciate it 🙂

  • For some reason nobody has figured this out or listens to me when I shout it over the mic. Do not kill the imp right away. Instead lead him towards the king. If you kill him closer to the king you get an extra 5-10 seconds of damage on him which can make a huge difference. On a side note I had a game where the king fell right off the map and we got an instant win. Maybe we can figure out a way to push him off.

Also DONT get on a roof. I know is an easy way for you to stay alive but it puts more pressure on the rest of your team cause now all the zombies focus on the guys that are on the ground.

I've had good luck with people on the roof as a sunflower (I'm usually a sunflower) since I don't have to worry about them as much and a lot of the zombies still try to get to them but can't as long as you dodge projectiles. Don't stay up there when the Imp spawns and of course when shooting the king but it's worked out when you have say a peashooter and a kernel corn up on the roof and 2 sunflowers down below and we can heal each other while the rooftop pals needs less attention and we can keep each other alive.

Your team composition will dictate this and you need to be ready to jump off to help with the popsicles or emergencies.

Ugh this is so true. You can push the Imp towards the king at least a bit even though he wanders a lot. If the king and fool are very far apart you need to push him closer as it's better to waste a little non-buff instead of buff time. Wasting a ton of time on just getting to the king loses too much valuable buff time and can seriously impede your ability to win this.
