Unable to connect to multiplayer - black screen of death

Hi - I've recently started playing GW1 again.  I'm experiencing a persistent issue trying to enter multiplayer games in the last two days.  After I'm told a server has been found, I only get the bla...

I reported it as a bug, maybe someone will look at it that way.  Helpdesk sure is no help.

They won't, all they do is tell you to try the same steps that don't work.  It's been going on for weeks.
