Hey man, I am having the exact same problem. I think I may have found the problem though. EA's way of 'pre-ordering' makes absolutely no sense. For instance, I pre-ordered the game on April 6th, 2014. Here I am wondering why I couldn't pre-load the game on the 20th like they said I could. I tried everything to no avail. I chalked it up to a rough launch or something. So I waited patiently to download it when it was released at 11pm on June 23rd (central time). To my extreme disappointment and surprise I STILL couldn't do anything. Checked everywhere for some kind of solution. So I am thinking that I am going crazy at this point. Then I notice in my Purchase History that the 'pre-order' that I had made April 6th was still in 'processing'. I am racking my brain trying to understand how. Then it hits me; EA never charged me for the game. I thoroughly checked my bank account and they definitely did NOT charge me for it. I have since had that particular card that I had used to, what I thought was, pay for the game stolen and I deactivated it. So now I am in some kind of awful limbo. Why wouldn't they take my money when I was giving it to them? I haven't the slightest clue. I chose to pre-order it at that particular time, because that is when I wanted to pay for it. I even edited the payment option and added my new card and I STILL can't even install it yet. I am absolutely livid and have been trying to figure this out for several hours now. The irony is that I am so mad because I can't play a game about a bunch of flowers going around killing zombies. I have been trying to find some way of contacting EA and I can't find any way. They just redirect you to an absolutely useless self help website that cannot assist me in the least. Absolutely the last time I 'pre-order' a game from Origin. I have never had any issues like this ever before. Good luck man. My suggestion is check your bank account and/or account management and see your purchase history.
