If they're going to release it to everybody anyways, it's more than likely to be a Legendary which is virtually impossible to get stickers for. Their mistake was making the loyalty reward a character, which is something that everyone wants, instead of customization items. They could have easily made a legendary customization item for all characters (similar to the Gnomish Perspective and Everlasting Crown) that was reminiscent of the first game.
@kumaxking There will always be something people want more simply because of it's rarity. The more exclusive the more some people would want it. Not to mention people still have an ENTIRE YEAR to EARN the UniChomp themselves instead of having it handed over to them (which kinda goes against the reward's original intention but it's fair). A whole YEAR. If anyone wants it that bad they can certainly get there in a year...
As for making it a Legendary character...Legendaries are trigged through a RNG so it could make it rare and it also couldn't...There are quite a few games that do the very same thing where there's a character that is available for a limited time, to only be rewarded a certain way, etc. But if UniChomp were to be readily available for anyone in GW2 it would most certainly lose it's value and a lot of player's trust...

@MoonLiteWolf The issue with Unicorn Chomper was that if you didn't get it in weeks prior to the games release, you were left high and dry. And going back to play GW1, I found nothing by drying-up servers and lobbies with 4 - 5 people per team because everyone was playing the new game. I had accepted the fact that I wouldn't ever get the Unicorn Chomper. It wasn't worth the time or effort (or even money, if it came to that) to go back and waste time doing over 230 levels to get skip challenge stars, and that was my opinion. And, to be fair, I'd seen more negative criticism of the character, than positive feedback on the boards here.
To fix the issue: give all players the chance to get Unicorn Chomper, but give 313 from GW1 players a legendary customization item that cannot be unlocked any other way. That way you're not withholding valuable content from all players and then "loyal/dedicated" players (I use the term loosely because the leveling system had nothing to do with loyalty or dedication in GW1) have something to show for their 313 status.

@kumaxking I was on Garden Warfare 1 the other day and found 2/3 different full lobbies in GnG and played one mixed mode game and the lobby was completely full there as well. I think if anything the release of the new game brought life to the first game again because it exposed it to a lot of people and it's also much cheaper. I don't know what console you're on but this is the case on xbox one at least. That was my first time on the game in a couple months and I saw a ton of new lower ranked players.

It's pretty simple if they give out Unicorn Chomper for anything less than reaching max rank in GW2 it will go from a thankyou to FU to so called loyal players.

There is no issue because POPCAP has already given everyone a chance to get the UniChomper by granting them another year to max their rank in GW1.
- 9 years agoI think players should have a chance to unlock it in GW2. It should stay as a max rank reward though. If you unlock it in GW1 within the year you get the sparkly colorful original unichomper. But if you unlock it in GW2 you get a non sparkly non rainbow version or something along those lines. I dont think they should offer it for a hero showcase. That definitely takes away the special-ness of it. There are lots of young/new fans who just weren't allowed to play as much as they wanted to reach max rank or who's parents just wont spend the time on reaching max rank on an old game especially after spending money on GW2. Those are the fans I feel for because its literally not in their control.

I am one of the few people who have the UniChomp and really agree that it is an exclusive prize of loyalty and dedication GW1 so I am against release him for everyone simply if they feel bad for new players give away something and simply to remain a space award said the total PopCap has one year to remove those who really want and to work like that we did have a year is enough time to have it those who say that the take out for all are people who are not as loyal as others and do not want to strive as did about so if released this award for all just stay as a reward anyone who would give as I said to people who are not loyal and not strived not release anything UniChopm that is my opinion of someone who has it and I think that would be the same opinion of the other players that we have.
