the issue here is, they called it a LOYALTY reward, and it's nothing of the such, attaining rank 313 is NO MEASURE of loyalty to Garden Warfare.
The leveling system in GW1 was awful, and pointless past 110 odd once you unlocked all the variants for each class.
Scenario 1: one player ranks upto 313 i a month for the reward, total play time... 72 hours... is that person loyal? no.
Scenario 2: player plays GW1 for 300 hours but stopped at Rank 110 because there was no need to go further and they just wanted to enjoy the game fully... are they loyal? yes.
the Unicorn Chomper should be made available for all those who played GW1, because to suggest that rank is a measurement of loyalty is not only short sighted, but actually incorrect and flipping the middle finger to players like me on 500 hrs play time on GW1, who just PLAYED THE GAME.
For those who DID max 313 Rank there should be something cool, i agree, but a variant is not the answer and only fractures the player base.
in summary Unicorn Chomper for anyone who has played GW1 (easily checked) and a better reward more suiting those who reached 313.
to dismiss your usual arguments, no why should be go back to GW1 and rank up through a slow and quite frankly ridiculous ranking system neglecting GW2, and no, rank is not the same as loyalty.
Complete difficult challenges to unlock him?

I was playing GW1 just for the enjoyment for well over a year and a half , I was still ranked in the 90's when I found out about the Unicorn Chomper.. Luckily I had 2m in coins and over 800 skip stars to use and it still took me 4 weeks to max out using mostly solo garden op games. :D I understand why some of the newbies I played on GW1 might not want to put In the hard work and play the new game at the same time.
If the Unicorn Chomper comes available to everyone maybe the people that ranked 313 could get a better, more powerful weapon for the Unicorn.. Like a spray rather than a chop.
:D

These forums themselves have turned to *. Big friggin woppy do about the Legendary Chomper. If you have it - great, if you dont - not great. Arguing the point backwards and forwards here is pointless. Getting personal in these forums (mostly by the people who have got it) is pretty immature. These other people have their opinions too and you should do them the courtesy of letting them express those. The legendary chomper is just another symptom of this poorly thought out and executed game.
And yes I have the chomper before anybody wants to belittle me here. Was it worth it - for me yes. Do I care if other people aquire it in other ways - not in the slightest. Did I enjoy earning it - no not really, it was a bit of a drag. Do I think it should be included in GW2 - definitely not, it should be a playable character in GW1.
PopCap will do whatever they want, the mere fact they are even talking about it is evidence enough. Ask yourself do they EVER talk about ANYTHING - NEVER. I'm betting they will inevitably introduce it into GW2 either now or in 10 months time.

Moon, you have made some great points in this thread. I applaude you.
I'm one of the people who's got the Unicorn Chomper and want it to stay exclusive. I just don't see the point in saying "Hey, get to 313 and you will get an awesome reward" and then hand it to everyone else as well, making the work of everyone else wasted.
I started GW1 on the 360, got to about 150 in rank, then Xbox One was released in my country and I upgraded, starting over in GW1. It was quite frustrating but I was just playing for fun. I never aspired to get to max rank, but when Gary started teasing there would be a reward, you bet your sweet butt I played nothing else until I got there and I was only like a rank 80 when that happened. I'm probably the only person who didn't hate the old ranking system, I liked a good challenge.
One thing I've been pondering about is people are making it into an interpretation issue. "What does loyal mean?". They stated clearly to get the reward you had to get to 313. Nothing else. You might consider yourself loyal because you played 1000 hours, bought the game twice, spent $300 on coins, never played another game etc. but that doesn't change the fact that the requirement was to get to 313 and that's how they chose to meassure loyalty.
Everyone saying they should judge it by the amount of time you've played instead, how is that any more fair?
I don't think anyone will ever change their opinion, but I wanted to put my two cents in nonetheless.

If Popcap releases the unicorn chomper to everyone. I promise, I will never play GW2 again. I'm rank 260 (and climbing) in GW1 and I've been working on getting max rank since the release of GW2 (was at lvl 30 when I committed). If you're too damn lazy to figure it out on your own you don't deserve the unicorn chomper.

Okay, we not gonna miss you😕

And I won't miss any of you either. There are a lot of great games out there.
However, I highly doubt popcap will give you a free unicorn chomper, so... keep crying, kid.
