Update stuck on 81%
The update downloads ok. When updating the network speed is strong and consistent until it gets to 81% at which the network speed slows to zero and hangs. Its stuck at 2.48 Gb/3.05 Gb. ?

Have you tried pausing and resuming?
This may be a stretch, but it could also be an issue on the ISP's end. My ISP doesn't allow big download from Apple and always stops the download after a certain amount has been downloaded, so every time there's a major OS X update, I have to use a VPN client to install it.
got it fixed....changed the download to safe mode...which made it continue past the bottleneck.
