[Updated 03/09] PC - GW/GW2 Not Working After Update

I got the patch and ran the game as usual,. my PC asked me if I wanted to give EA Anticheat permission, and I said yes, so the splash screen comes up and then goes away, but the game never starts.It ...

    @n2g7mutf8 The anti cheat is used by similar ea games that hackers already found ways around them so it was only a matter of time.

    Unity research has a good video on why kernel anitcheats just kind of suck in general.

    The fact that it happened so fast shows this whole thing was almost worthless and has only hurt good mods while cheaters still roam free unless a solution is found.

      The reason why it so easy to bypass EAAc is the fact that you can still join the game with older version. That happened because the gw2 server only kick client that have game content changes like more character more upgrades stuff like that. The current version of gw2 did not add or remove any game content so the server allow any client with the same game content to join. I found this out by using a local frostbite server clone with gw2 assets.

        @n2g7mutf8So they would actively have to add or remove something from the game for the anti cheat to work by stopping haxkers using older versions?

        Well we're boned at that rate.
