Velocity and Drag distance changes aren't enough. Add damage dropoff.
Although Velocity and drag distance changes are a step in the right direction, unsurprisingly this has not changed the gameplay of the classes these were most directed towards.
Despite All-Star getting a damage nerf with no warning, he is still strong at long range.
Chonper's Slobber shot can still do 34 - 41 damage at any range, even though he is a melee class.
Nightcap, Imp, and Acorn, still play the same even after the Jan 28 patch. They lack the firepower to make up for their low health, so the best thing to do is to shoot people from a distance. Heck, this patch actually makes Hardened and Parkour almost seem fair (which they are not). These classes dont do good damage but just enough to make them good at medium range, making them very boring to play.
None of these classes should do max damage at long ranges. All-star is a defense class. Attacking at longer ranges is for suppression and giving covering fire, NOT to get kills.
Chomper is a melee class. Slobber shot should not be his best tool for killing, but simply a way to finish off retreating enemies.
Nightcap, Imp, and Acorn, should be in close range to be effective. Small characters that are more difficult to hit, should not be effective at longer ranges.
Which leads to my 2nd point: Damage Dropoff. Velocity and Drag distance changes was not the solution, but actually only a piece of the puzzle. This along with damage dropoff will help the gunplay feels so much better.
Let me ask you this. What is the point of flanking and good positioning if you can do Max damage at any range? I believe the lack of Damage dropoff is making the gunplay feel too casual, dumb, and unsatisfying. Overall, the game feels the same even after this patch.
Also we need 12 v 12 back please, thank you.
Side note: If the game gets damage dropoff, then Acorn, Imp, and Nightcap are going to need better damage at close ranges. These classes are basically Soldier and Corn but worse. And I also wouldn't mind All-star doing 8 - 10 damage per shot again.
