so if intel video cards are not supported, then i just wasted my money? or is there a chance for it to be supported in later versions of the game?

The game has not the real, problem, the problem is with the driver and the video chipset that is not compatible, maybe a new Driver in the future, or maybe yes. an update of EA but.. maybe..
a Waste of money?
You have 48 hours to refund, go to origin, then at origin menu, then Privacy and account, then to buy history, then clic on the name of the game and should appear at the middle Left "Refund Game" and origin send your money back and the game dissapears from the app.
the thing is that i preordered the game thinking i could have played it! i had ordered the delux version some time ago!

Not at all likely.
Maybe I've the solution at your problem. I've the same visual glitch problem but i've solved it!
STEP:
1 - Install the latest video driver for your graphic card
2 - Update DirectX, go on Origin game folder and enter into Plants Vs Zombies GW folder, then go in " _Installer/directx7redist" and run DXSETUP
3 - Now whe have to solve the real problem, some PC's has got two graphic cards that works in parallel, but this game don't support the integrated INTEL graphic card, so you have to go on " NVIDIA control panel" and then in "3D Settings" click on "manage 3D settings"(menù on left). Now we have to select like favourite graphic processor, your dedicated graphic processor, NOT the intel processor, then click apply. For example for me is "NVIDIA processor hight performance" and NOT "integrated graphic".

Everything you need to know about each one is there. Forget about Intel, because no matter what the drivers are, the results are plain awful! Alaso, take note of the fact they sell no GPU at all, only their puny IGP.
