Weekly event - rando ops

Another crap event taking away from team vanquish player volume...enjoy those who like ops.

I wish weekly events weren’t tied to Rainbow Stars so people wouldn’t be “forced” to play them.

I prefer old school boss hunts scheduled for one week out of the month (like the structure of GW2).

In BfN, all PvP modes suffer and are far less populated, especially Tuesday through Friday because every week sees a new set of challenges that cannot be fulfilled in regular PvP modes.

The new weekly Community Portal and Giddy Park really hinder PvP numbers. 🙁

  • I love rando and Ops aren't bad at all (although they do need work, where's that phase 3 Ops patch?).

The challenges are a breath of fresh air after last week's too.

    1-Win an Ops

2-Win an Ops without being vanquished

    3-Gain 8000 XP in Ops.

I got all of these done last night. The only thing I disliked was watching teammates respawn over and over to beat the randomizer when the Ops started.

@Iron_Guard8 i noticed that a lot in rando vanquish confirmed people jumping off ledges until they get the char they like.

No shocker there. I guess I'm weird in that I have all my characters within 2 levels of each other as I like playing everybody and take what I get in Rando, including regular Chomper 4 times in a row in a portal in GW2.

I love this event, it looks like they changed the challenges. I really enjoy the randomness as it allows me to level up plenty of different characters. Did a match today and got put as my Shogun-Guard corn. Lots of fun, excellent weekly event!

I’ll attach my weekly challenges tips tomorrow! 🙂

  • @Iron_Guard8 I love this event.
Like you I wouldn't bother respawning unless I was in a game with 3 inexperienced players & I thought the character combination was likely to prove problematic.

@spIash_damage Its a vicious cycle: people play the weekly gamemode for a slightly altered game with changes rules to get rainbow stars, the premium currency, therefore taking away from other modes but then when rainbow stars are collected by a majority of players they go back to normal modes depriving the weekly mode of players.

Here are my weekly challenge tips for this week's Rando Ops event:

    1. Complete a Match of Rando Ops. This does mean you must complete and win all 5 of the waves. You want to help your team to win by using your character you get spawned in to your advantage. For instance, if you're an attack character, aim for as many vanquishes as you can, if you're on defense, do your best to defend your team and yourself. If you're on support, heal and assist your team as much as possible. As Ops is relatively easy in difficulty, you should not have much trouble completing this challenge. You may also get placed in the middle of a match, giving yourself a higher chance of winning. If you really wanted, you could get vanquished until you get spawned in as a character you are really good at or really like.

    2. Complete a Match of Rando Ops without Being Vanquished. This does mean you must complete and win all 5 of the waves, and without being vanquished once. You won't be able to change your character that you get spawned in as, so you need to stick to who you get. Try to help your team to win by using your character that you get spawned in to your advantage. If you begin running low on health, sprint away to a safer location or use mobility/invincibility/invisibility (or so on) abilities to get to a safer location so that you should not get vanquished. If you have a heal pot/bot placed somewhere handy, head to that so that you get extra healing. It may be worth placing upgrades on your characters to give them a higher survival chance, such as "Low Life", "Vampiric", "Health Regeneration", "Fearless" and so on (on Build 1 as the game picks your Build 1 characters when selecting a random character for you, needs confirmation). You may also get placed in the middle of a match, giving yourself a higher chance of winning. You will probably want to try and obtain this challenge quickly so you can move on to the last one, which can take quite a while.

    3. Earn 8,500 XP in Rando Ops. This challenge is not particularly difficult, it's more time consuming. Equipping the "Levelling Up" upgrade on your characters (remember, Build 1) is helpful as you gain 10% more experience from actions that normally grant over 5 experience (needs confirmation). Simply completing waves nets you a free 250XP, so it's good to win as many waves as you can. Getting a shared or direct vanquish on a boss nets you 100XP (or 200 if it's elite) so it's good to focus on bosses. Another good tip is to place as many bots/pots as you can as you get 10 bonus XP by doing so (regardless of what you place). In basic terms though, any actions that grant you XP are good to aim for, be sure to, as well as getting as many enemy vanquishes as you can, use your character's attacks and abilities to your advantage for XP. Remember that you can also use this event to level up your other characters as well if they have not yet been mastered.

That's it for now! Enjoy your day! 🙂

@TheSprinter85 👍 Just to add though, you are able to respawn as a different random character right at the start of any match before the gardenator or zombie equivalent has been built.
It can be a good idea therefore to allow a little time before starting the match to give your team-mates a chance to do so if they want - but anyone trying to respawn should be aware that people's patience will wear thin if you attempt respawning numerous times to get a certain character!! 🤨😂
