Weekly Event - The Return of Boss Turf Takeover!

I saw the first challenge and immediately thought; 'skip it'. After so many of the challenges since then have been pretty good, I really don't want to go back to these kinds of challenges.

Surprisingly, I actually really enjoy this mode. I love the twist of being able to summon a boss to fight for your team (or having to fight the other team's boss). I think it is a nice twist to the game mode. However, the thing about this mode that I do not enjoy are the challenges. They are very hard to complete, it's a miracle that me and my brother completed the first two in one hour. We took turns opening the chest and protected each other while doing. But it turned out that not very many other players were interested in the chest anyway. But still, I don't like the challenges!

I love the event, but I loathe the challenges! 😞

The weekly event tips are as follows, for any players who are going to try and complete the challenges. I hope this helps someone out 🙂:

1. Open a Boss Chest. The boss chest appears when 1/3 of the objective has been captured, you can open it whether or not you are on the defending or attacking team, and it always appears in a specific section of the map. You also have to wait 20 seconds or something before the chest can be opened. You will want to make haste and set up your defenses when this chest appears. As soon as it's ready to open, start opening it! When you actually begin to open the chest, it takes about 10 seconds or something to open and you can't move or use your abilities while you are doing so. That means you are quite defenseless while opening the chest. In that case, I have these tips:

• I advise to consider equipping upgrades that could help you survive while opening this chest (such as "Hardened").
• Another tip is using a defense character as they tend to have more health and have defenses such as shields.
• Try to use any abilities that can protect you before opening the chest (e.g. All-Star's Shield, Nightcap's Casting Shadows, Foot Soldier's Stink Cloud etc.
• An option that I would suggest, personally, is going as a Citron (if you are on the plants faction) and using your Peel Shield as you try to open the boss chest, as it is not an ability, and the shield has a lot of health, so you can quite feasibly protect yourself while opening the chest, making you more likely to survive! Good luck! 

2. Vanquish a Boss. This one is a little bit annoying, but also easy if you know what you're doing. We'll start with the hard part: you have to let your opponent's team open the chest. Yes, I said it! Once the boss has been summoned, you don't actually have to deal very much damage to the boss to get a shared vanquish (even about 100 damage should suffice, it's happened to me before). But you have to make sure the boss does get vanquished or you won't obtain this challenge. For this reason, I suggest that you try to deal as much damage as possible to the boss, or try and get the direct vanquish. Attack characters are probably best for this challenge as they tend to deal more damage more quickly than other character classes, therefore making it easier to deal damage and/or vanquish the boss.

3. Win 5 Matches. Surprisingly, this is probably the least frustrating challenge as it requires you to work well with your team to win. As you can play with any character, you may play who you want and/or you are good with. However, I would suggest a Support and/or Healer Support, as you can keep everyone healed and revive allies quickly. If there's no other healers on your team, I find that your team has a much higher chance of winning if you go Support as you have access to lots of healing and quicker revives. But any character should do, just make sure to get as many vanquishes as possible and helping your team as much as possible just to simply improve your chances of achieving this faster! You may get placed on a team in a lobby who is currently winning and get a quick win that way, that happened to me!

Well, this event is back everyone. Any thoughts on it? I thought I would use an existing thread that I made rather than make a new one. 

Meh, not again this one.

I hate this one, teamplay always gets forgotten here when everyone is going simultaneity for the bosschest. 

This one really needs rethinking. The weekly events are very mixed, some are great fun like Rando Ops, and some are like this one where you feel like you're competing against your own team. The bosses could really help balance things if they supported the losing team instead of the chest both sides fight over. 

I actually like the idea of adding bosses to PvP modes, but Boss Turf Takeover needs to be adjusted to be a fun, balanced, and team-friendly experience.
