Weekly Event Guide Series - Battle Arena!

Hey,

My Weekly Event guide series have arrived, this series intend to cover all of the Weekly Event modes, in some detail. In this thread, I intend to cover the Battle Arena Weekly Event, so if you really enjoy playing Battle Arena, or are currently doing this event, then look no further than this guide for some useful tips, as well as knowing how this game mode works.

I will be covering other Weekly Event game modes, however they will be covered in a separate thread, so if you are looking for a guide for a different game mode, you can search for the same thread as this one, except substitute the "Battle Arena" game mode for the game mode you are actually looking for.

Here is the guide:

Battle Arena

Battle Arena is a Weekly Event in the Multiplayer Terminal that is a unique game mode. It is playable with Al in Private Play, but you are unable to play with other players online unless you do it in the Weekly Event. It is a 4v4 Deathmatch mode, where there are 4 players on each team. The goal is to knock out your opponents before they can vanquish your team. When a character is vanquished, they have to spectate the round, unless they start to get revived within about 5 seconds of being vanquishes and are revived successfully. There are 4-7 rounds within a match of Battle Arena. You cannot select the same character more than once in an entire match of Battle Arena, or customise or put upgrades on your characters during Battle Arena, so try and equip your upgrades, do your customisations and consider which characters you want to use before you start playing Battle Arena as well, for best results. Your team gets a point, if your team wins a round by knocking out all your enemies in a round. First team to 4 points wins! The amount of rounds in a match depends on how fast a team gains points. If a round has gone for about 2 minutes, a capture point will unlock in about 10 seconds. The teams must try to capture the middle point, and the team that captures the point or vanquishes their enemies in this case, wins. This is a very skill-based mode, so I would not advise trying it until you have some decent experience with the game. The maps in this mode are unique, some have stage hazards which can vary randomly depending on the match. There are only a couple that can be chosen from, so try to get to know them a bit better if you have not already.

"Test your skills in several rounds of a 4v4 PvP elimination battle. Characters lock out each round, so pick carefully."

Weekly Event Tips

Battle Arena is quite a difficult mode. It requires some decent teamwork and skill, if you are to perform well in this mode. Thinking ahead, even before you start playing Battle Arena, can really help you out. Here are tips that can help you perform better during this event:

  • Get some proper experience with the game before you attempt this mode. This mode comes on fairly often in the Multiplayer Terminal, so you should not miss out on playing it, like at all. You can also practice your skills by playing Battle Arena in Private Play, which is also a viable option.
  • Level up your characters decently before you play Battle Arena as well, so that you have unlocked more upgrades for them. Make sure you customise and equip upgrades to your characters before you jump into Battle Arena, as you cannot do once in a match, you are stuck with what you currently had.
  • Try to combo with allies, for instance, there are some characters that work quite well with each other. If an ally selects a specific character, you could select one that works quite well with that character. Comboing like that can definitely, no doubt, improve your chances of performing well.
  • Watch out for attacks and abilities that can instantly vanquish you, as you might be out for the round if you get vanquished by them. To counteract this, watch out for flanks constantly, know where your enemies could attack by surprise from and try and attack enemies before they get too close to you and your team.
  • Definitely stay close to your team, unless you are setting up a flank. Going off alone could pay off, but it is very likely to easily get you vanquished and you are very unlikely to be revived as well, so beware. Your team in the Battle Arena match are your only friends, also watch for stage hazards. Also, try to get to know the maps better.

Weekly Challenges

Here are the Weekly Challenges for this event:

  1. Get 3 Vanquishes in a Match (10 Rainbow Stars).
  2. Deal 7,000 Damage (20 Rainbow Stars).
  3. Win 3 Matches (30 Rainbow Stars).

Weekly Challenge Tips

1. Get 3 Vanquishes in a Match.

  • For this challenge, you can get these vanquishes at any round, during any round of the match. If the match goes quickly, it may be harder to get these vanquishes, but shared vanquishes do count, so try to attack enemies that your allies are attacking.
  • If an enemy is weakened, focus on attacking them. It will be easier to attack and vanquish them, as opposed to if they had full health. Try to focus on taking out those enemies first, as it will also help your team to win the round.
  • Use attack characters often during the match, and use attacks and abilities that deal high damage or that are effective against enemy groups to your advantage, in those particular situations.

2. Deal 7,000 Damage.

  • If you can deal damage to multiple enemies at a time, with any attack or ability, make use of them. Dealing damage to multiple enemies at once, especially if it is consistent or significantly damaging, can net you some decent damage.
  • Attacking enemies before they notice you can earn you some additional damage, as you managed to attack them and deal damage before they retaliated. Try to start by attacking enemies with higher amounts of health for potential additional damage.
  • If your team will be able to manage, you can attack an enemy that is being healed for even more damage output, as the healing will likely outsource your damage, unless you deal damage way too fast or your allies also attack that enemy. But just take out the healer first if it could cause major issues for your team.

3. Win 3 Matches.

  • Remain with your team where possible. If a player strays off and leaves the team, they can get vanquished really easily, and will most likely be unable to get revived.
  • It may be worth setting up an ambush. If the rest of the group stays together, and one of you on your team sneaks up and attacks from behind, it is going to make it harder for the enemy team to focus on all of you. Watch out for flanks yourself as well.
  • Try your best to revive allies that have fallen. If you manage to successfully, that ally gets a second chance. If you are reviving someone or need to heal, try to use cover.

And that is what there is to know about Battle Arena! 😇
