Turf Takeover Tactical
Turf Takeover Tactical is a Weekly Event in the Multiplayer Terminal that is a variant of Turf Takeover. Instead of the maximum amount of players in this lobby being 12v12, it is 8v8 instead, which means only up to 8 players can be on each team. This mode was added because, a while ago, the developers tested having lobbies of 8v8 in Turf Takeover, but after a while it was reverted back to 12v12 because players preferred it. However, you are still able to do Turf Takeover with only 8 players on each side in this event, if you prefer to do that. Teamwork and working in a team becomes more important in this mode, so prepare to work well with your team if you are to do well in this mode!
"8v8 Turf Takeover: Where teamwork is more essential than ever."
Weekly Event Tips
This mode is identical to Turf Takeover, except that there are less players on each team, so teamwork is even more important than normal! Here are tips that can help you perform better during this event:
- Teamwork is even more important than normal, if compared to regular Turf Takeover. Stay with your team where possible, especially when trying to go and capture the objective, or when defending the objective.
- The quicker you and your team can vanquish your enemies, the better. Quick vanquishes can really help you and your team to win a fight.
- If you are on the Capturing team, wait until your team has vanquished a few enemies, or wait for you and your allies to group up, before you go in and try and capture the objective.
- If you are on the Defending team, try to remain in the objective, or give the enemies a harder time trying to capture it by denying space.
- Try to play as a character type (Attack, Defend, Support, Swarm) that not many other allies are playing as, to provide your team with more varied support. Doing this can be especially useful in this mode.
Weekly Challenges
Here are the Weekly Challenges for this event:
- Win a Match (10 Rainbow Stars).
- Get 20 Vanquishes (20 Rainbow Stars).
- Get a Vanquish Streak of 4 (30 Rainbow Stars).
Weekly Challenge Tips
1. Win a Match.
- You can join in the middle of a match to improve your chances of winning faster. If so, you can help your team once you have joined in to improve your chances of winning.
- If you are on the Capturing team, try to attack your enemies as a group in order to get the objective, then try to prevent your enemies from getting back to try and defend the objective by shooting in their direction and giving them a hard time. If it is about to go into Overtime, quickly get into the objective to get another chance at capturing it.
- If you are on the Defending team, try to contest the objective whenever capturers get onto the objective, to stop them from being able to capture. If you defend the point for long enough, you can win quite quickly and end the game.
2. Get 20 Vanquishes.
- You can get shared vanquishes for this challenge, so try and have allies backing you up in order to deal damage more easily and to reduce your chances of being vanquished in the process.
- Use attacks and abilities that deal high damage to your advantage, to increase your chances of getting successful direct or shared vanquishes.
- Use attacks and abilities that are effective against enemy groups, when your enemies cluster, to try and get multiple vanquishes, or to deal high damage to multiple enemies at once.
3. Get a Vanquish Streak of 4.
- When you get a direct or shared vanquish, get to cover and regenerate your health if you think it is necessary, or you could also do this if your health gets low.
- Try to have escape abilities active, so if you start to take a lot of damage, you can make a quick retreat. Having attacks or abilities which can deal lots of damage, splash damage or have homing can really be useful for getting vanquishes with ease, as well.
- You can be revived if you are vanquished during this challenge, and you will keep your current vanquish streak. If you are vanquished, wait to see if an ally revives you.

Boss Turf Takeover
Boss Turf Takeover is a Weekly Event in the Multiplayer Terminal that is a variant of Turf Takeover. It works in exactly the same way as regular Turf Takeover, except that when 1/3 of an objective is captured or a payload is pushed, except for the final objective, a boss chest will appear fairly close to the current objective on the map. The chest will be locked for 20 seconds, but once that amount of time has passed, the chest can be opened. If the chest gets opened successfully, and the objective has not been fully captured yet or the payload has not been fully pushed, a random boss appears. It will be a Plant boss if a Plant opens the chest and a Zombie boss if a Zombie opens the chest. While a player is opening the chest, they are not able to move or use their abilities, however they can turn around and use their primary weapons and other effects that do not count as abilities. The boss can really help capture or defend a payload or objective, so try to summon a boss to help your team by opening the chest, or protecting allies while they open it, and try to take out any approaching enemies. The boss chest will always appear at a specific location, so try to remember where the locations of the boss chests are so you can head straight there when it appears.
Weekly Event Tips
This mode is identical to Turf Takeover, except that there is a boss chest that allows you or your enemies to summon a boss to fight for your or their cause. Here are tips that can help you perform better during this event:
- Try hard to get to the boss chest when it appears on the map, try and open it yourself or protect allies that are attempting to. The boss can help contest the objective quite well, and the boss will have a lot of health, giving enemies a harder time taking it out.
- Conversely, try to prevent your enemies from being able to open the boss chest, if they get to summon a boss for their team, your team is going to have a harder time capturing or defending the objective or payload and it will be difficult to take out the boss. Stay near the boss chest and take out any approaching enemies, if possible, especially if you have allies backing you up.
- Remember where the locations of the boss chests are. In each area of each map, for each objective and payload, the boss chest will always appear in the same location, and the chest will be locked for about 20 seconds. Use this time and knowledge to head straight to the boss chest, so you can open it quickly or stop enemies from opening it in the first place.
- If your team is capturing, try to capture at least 1/3 of the objective or payload so that your team has a chance of opening the boss chest. If you manage to do so, the fight to capture the rest of the objective or payload will become a whole lot easier.'
- If your team is defending, try to prevent the capturing team from even being able to capture 1/3 of the objective or payload. However, if they do manage to capture that much, try to get your team to open the boss chest before your chances so they have a harder time capturing the rest of it.
Weekly Challenges
Here are the Weekly Challenges for this event:
1. Open a Boss Chest (10 Rainbow Stars).
2. Vanquish a Boss (20 Rainbow Stars).
3. Win 5 Matches (30 Rainbow Stars).
Weekly Challenge Tips
1. Open a Boss Chest.
- Because you cannot move around or use your abilities while opening the chest, make sure you look around for enemies approaching or shooting at you. Use your primary weapon, if necessary, to return fire at enemies.
- As soon as the boss chest appears around the map, head straight there, but be watchful of enemies that may be coming as well. Set up defenses if possible, and start to open the chest as soon as it is unlocked.
- You can make use of secondary weapons and extra abilities, such as using shields and equipping upgrades that will improve your survivability while you open the chest. Activate abilities that will help you survive before you begin to open the chest as well.
2. Vanquish a Boss.
- Even dealing a relatively low amount of damage to an enemy boss can still give you this challenge, but you need to deal damage to it quite frequently and make sure the boss actually gets vanquished. Focus on an enemy boss when it appears to improve your chances of earning this challenge.
- Use attacks and abilities that deal high damage to vanquish the boss faster and to ensure that you deal enough damage to the boss for it to count towards this challenge.
- Let the enemies open the boss chest that appears around the map, instead of trying to yourself (in other words, basically ignore it). This may not sound the best idea, but it is the most likely way that you will get the opportunity to vanquish a boss.
3. Win 5 Matches.
- If you would like to, you can attempt to jump into matches that are already in progress, to improve your chances of getting faster wins. This could take some time, so be sure to try hard to improve your chances of your team winning that match.
- Work well with your team to increase your chances of winning. Staying close to the objective or payload can also be really useful in most cases, so try not to be overly split up.
- If you are trying to capture an objective or payload, try to capture it together as a team at the same time. If you are defending, try to have some players on the objective defending it, and it might also be useful to have players giving the capturers a harder time trying to take the objective.
