Weirding Woods - Gnome Guide!

Greetings friends and everyone else,

In this thread here I will be covering how to complete at least most of the gnome activities through Weirding Woods. In other words, I will cover all of the gnome activities available in Weirding Woods unless I forget something. Since there are lots of gnome activities to complete in Weirding Woods, I will not be covering every gnome activity available, when necessary, I will attach links to videos where you can find out where the collectibles are located and how to collect the collectibles. For the Gnome Boss fights, I will also attach some of my personal tips to make it easier to complete these fights.

Imma cover the following Gnome Activities in Weirding Woods:

  • Golden Gnomes.
  • Diamond Gnomes.
  • The Mysterious Phone.
  • Gnome Shrine.
  • Gnome Chests.
  • Sir Baff Boss Fight.
  • The Rewards.

Imma get started now. Shall we begin?

Golden Gnomes

Throughout the entirety of Weirding Woods, there are a total of 24 Golden Gnomes to collect. Some of these Golden Gnomes are really easy to collect, while others require some sort of challenge to get hold of, or are just outright difficult. Some can be collected straight away, while others may require you to complete a challenge first. For example, Catch That Gnome, Gnomolith Activity or a Gnomolith Puzzle. Some may not be obviously spotted either and you may need to look for a Gnome Button which either reveals the Golden Gnome, or you can then trigger the following activity.

To find out how to collect of all the Golden Gnomes, watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4czz4RuQ8Ts

Once you have collected all 24 of the Golden Gnomes, you will be able to open both of the Gnome Chests, located inside the Gnome Shrine.

Diamond Gnomes

Throughout the entirety of Weirding Woods, there are 3 Diamond Gnomes to collect. They require different activities for you to complete, before the Diamond Gnome can be collected, one being a Parkour challenge, another being a Puzzle, and the final one being a Gnomolith Boss Fight.

To find out how to collect all the Diamond Gnomes, watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=az0FA3LGGwA

Once you have collected all of the 3 Diamond Gnomes, you will be able to open the Mysterious Door in the Gnome Shrine, which gives you access to the Sir Baff Boss Fight.

The location of the Diamond Gnomes are here:

Diamond Gnome Gnomolith Tips - Bomby Gnight!

For the Gnomolith activity required to get the Diamond Gnome, here are my tips to make it a bit easier for you:

  • You have a time limit. The damage and DPS you can get, the easier you should find it to win. You must pay 50 marshmallows every time you attempt this Gnomolith so do your best to win on your first try!
  • The boss itself, Bomby Gnight, has no special perks. However the gimmick of the fight is as follows. 2 Explody Gnomes appear at the start of the fight. These 2 Gnomes follow you for the entire fight and are invincible. They cannot be vanquished, unless they vanquish themselves. But if they do, you instantly lose the Gnomolith and must reattempt it. For this reason, you always want to keep your eye out for them, keep moving when you can and perhaps use characters with high mobility (such as Engineer with Double Time or Scientist with Warps). If you can do this, the only real threat should be defeating the boss in time, which remember the boss has no special significant perks.
  • Using attacks and abilities that deal splash damage, have an area of effect or that provide explosive firepower (ZPG for example) are useful for this fight. This can be really handy with dealing with hordes of other Gnomes that appear during the fight. If there are no other non-Explody Gnomes nearby, focus on the Bomby Gnight himself!
  • Use cover if you need to, but always keep an eye out for those Explody Gnomes. Retreat if necessary - you do not want to instantly lose the fight!
  • Consider your character and upgrades you use before attempting the Gnomolith.

The Mysterious Phone

This is located in Camp-Near-A-Lake! This is located really close to where you first appear in Weirding Woods, so as soon as you appear there, turn right and the phone should be right there. You use the Mysterious Phone to get in contact with a "mysterious" gnome. When you have collected all 3 of the Diamond Gnomes, the phone will "ring". Head over to the Mysterious Phone (or reload Weirding Woods - that works too!) and interact with it. The Mysterious Gnome on the phone will want you to defeat Sir Baff. If you do, you will get rewarded from the mysterious gnome.

Gnome Shrine

There is a Gnome Shrine, like in every other region, located inside Weirding Woods. It is located near the Z-Tech Factory, between there and Stirring Swamp. If you see the 2 Foot Soldiers attacking plants outside the Z-Tech Factory, look and head to the left. You should see a Red Tunnel. If you go through that, at the end of the tunnel, the Gnome Shrine should be there. Anyway, this is where the Mysterious Door and Gnome Chests are located.

Gnome Chests

There are 2 Gnome Chests located in Weirding Woods. These are both located inside the Gnome Shrine, on either side of the Mysterious Door (which is also located inside the Gnome Shrine). When you collect 12 Golden Gnomes, you will gain access to one of the Gnome Chests. When you have collected all 24 Golden Gnomes, you will gain access to both chests.

Sir Baff Boss Fight

After you have collected all of the Diamond Gnomes in Weirding Woods, you are then able to take on the final gnome boss of the region: Sir Baff. By defeating him, you will get a decent bunch of rewards. Keep in mind he has quite a bunch of health. The floor underneath you during the boss fight constantly become electrified - different parts of the floor will become electrified at different times, so watch out for that! To watch the boss fight in action, go here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zUFaqs5zrs&t=121s. Just as a note, after you have defeated him, head back to the Mysterious Phone and interact with it - you will have some rewards waiting for you! My tips to make the boss fight a little bit easier are as follows:

  • Always keep an eye on the floor of the arena. These electrify often and can deal lots of damage to you. It goes through shields as well, so take care.
  • High health and healing capabilities are useful for the fight due to improved survivability. Shields are also useful, but does not protect you from the electrified floor, so be wary of that.
  • Attack characters are really useful for the fight as they can vanquish the Gnomes quickly and deal lots of damage to the boss quite quickly. Consider using upgrades such as Fearless, Low Life or Vampiric to keep your health high by defeating the smaller Gnomes.
  • Keep moving whenever possible. Most of the Gnomes (apart from Sir Baff) have limited ranged capabilities so keeping your distance allows you to avoid being damaged continuously.
  • If many Gnomes begin to swarm around you, use explosive firepower, splash damage or area-of-effect attacks and abilities for crowd control reasons and to take out several Gnomes quickly.
  • Use cover to hide around the arena if your health is beginning to get low, but be wary of Gnomes coming your way. Sir Baff sometimes teleports so if you lose sight of him, try to regain sight of him quickly.
  • Consider what character you use and which upgrades you equip before heading through the Mysterious Door.

The Rewards

By defeating Sir Baff, you will receive rewards as listed below. You will also get some rewards along the way. The Rewards are as follows:

  • "The Gnome Gnight Falls" - a medal you get for defeating Sir Baff.
  • 10,000 coins.
  • 50,000 coins (interacting with the Mysterious Phone after defeating Sir Baff).
  • Gnomish Floaty - Universal Hat (interacting with the Mysterious Phone after defeating Sir Baff).
  • Persnickety Vault and Greed Eternal - victory slab and punchers, respectively (Gnome Chests).
  • 100,000 coins (from both Gnome Chests combined).
  • 250 XP for each Golden Gnome collected.
  • 1,000 XP for each Diamond Gnome collected.
  • Any other Medals and rewards you earn along the way.

I hope this guide was helpful and I'll see you in the next one in a few days time, hopefully!

Regards
