Weirding Woods - Sightseeing, Demolition and Gnome Medals Guide!
Greetings everyone,
In this guide series, I am covering the Sightseeing, Demolition and Gnome Medals in Weirding Woods that I have not covered in any of my other guides. I will cover how to get each of these medals, the names of the medals, and I will provide a picture for each medal which is relevant to each medal that I am covering. These medals are the only way to complete your Weirding Woods region and buy all of the items from the shop. These medals do not really award you with any additional rewards, however these medals generally do not take long to collect, and you do get to complete your region and unlock items, so it is worth doing. You can work on collecting these medals while you wait for something to happen, such as waiting for the Marigold to appear.
Here are how to complete the Medals themselves:
SIGHTSEEING MEDALS
When you have completed these activities, you will keep the medal that you get and will not need to repeat these activities in the future. You may aim for these medals at any time and you get to experience more of your free-roam region this way.
Sign O' The Times
To get this medal, you need to reach the top of the Camp Near-A-Lake sign, which is located in that named area. When you first spawn into the region, you will see the sign right in front of you. All you need to do is get up to the top of the sign and wait a few seconds, and you will have the medal. To make this easier to achieve, use a character who has abilities to gain jump height, or use the nearby houses to give yourself a boost. Carefully position yourself before you try to jump on top of the sign as it is quite high.
Tarper Image
To get this medal, you need to need to stand on the tarp that is located in the campground, which is at Camp-Near-A-Lake, near a bunch of campfires and other vehicles. The tarp is located quite high up. Get on top of the tarp and wait a few seconds, then you will get the medal. Use a character with abilities to increase jump height or that give you a burst of jump height to make this much easier, or use nearby objects in order to get up higher. Once you manage to get up on top of the tarp, the medal is yours.
Organ Donor
To get this medal, you need to get up to the top of the pipes inside of the Z-Tech Factory. There is a cluster of pipes in the front of the inside of the factory, near where the shop itself is located in the region. When you manage to get on top of those pipes, you will get the medal. As per normal, characters with increased jump height or jump boost height abilities are highly recommended because you will have an easier time getting up there. Make sure to make use of any nearby objects to boost yourself up.
How's the Feather up There?
To get this medal, you simply need to stand in a Bird's Nest for a few seconds. Actually getting up there, however, can prove to be difficult. There is a Bird's Nest located in Stirring Swamp high up in a tree, check there first. Before going for this medal, observe the trees from below. If you see a Bird's Nest, you know where to go. To make collecting this medal easier, you could put the forest to sleep to remove the annoying Dreadroots (however, you must complete most of the story to do that), use nearby objects to boost yourself and use a character that can give you a burst of jump height or improve jump height in order to get up there.
Cannonball!
To get this medal, all you need to do is to jump into Lost Keys Lake. This is the lake that is at Camp Near-A-Lake. Use any character to jump in to the lake and if you get vanquished as a result, you will get the medal. The lake is located to the far right. When you first spawn in, turn right and go straight ahead, you should see the lake, then simply just jump in and you will get the medal. By the way, this is the Secret Medal!
DEMOLITION MEDALS
These following medals require you to destroy a certain amount of items in your region. If you are unable to find enough of these specific items, you may reload your region and the items will appear in the same place as before, where you are then able to destroy them again. You can use any character you like to destroy these items and you simply just need to deal some damage to the items to destroy them.
A Real Crate Shooter
To get this medal, you need to destroy 25 Crates or more in Weirding Woods. You can find these all around the place in Camp Near-A-Lake, look mostly around houses and buildings to maximise your Crate find yield. You can find these elsewhere, but looking here before searching anywhere else should yield you a lot of Crates. Make sure you destroy any of these that you can find.
Propane and Propane Accessories
To get this medal, you need to destroy 3 Propane Tanks or more in Weirding Woods. Look behind and next to the trailers in Camp Near-A-Lake, these will likely contain these Propane Tanks. If you cannot find enough, reload your region and you should be good to go, just go to the same place and destroy the same ones again!
Communication Breakdown
To get this medal, you need to destroy 3 Satellite Dishes or more in Weirding Woods. Look on top of houses and buildings, especially in Camp Near-A-Lake, and they may have a satellite. Destroy any you find, and reload your region if you have trouble finding any more. There are a bunch of buildings around the campsite, so finding Satellite Dishes should not prove to be difficult.
Litter Me This
To get this medal, you need to destroy 3 Trash Cans or more in Weirding Woods. Like the other demolition items, look around houses, buildings and the campsite, in Camp Near-A-Lake and you should find. Have a decent look around the campsite for more, or reload your region and go to the same area where you found trash cans to destroy more.
GNOME MEDAL
This medal is a type of Demolition medal, but it is a gnome-related activity, so it has its own section.
The Gnome Gnight Falls
To get this medal, you need to climb the Steps of Gnomus, which means you need to defeat Sir Baff in the Gnome Shrine. To do so, you need to collect all of the Diamond Gnomes in the region, find the Gnome Shrine, open the Mysterious Door, then battle him and win the fight. After you do this, you will receive your medal.
CONCLUSION
While these medals do not give you any significant rewards for achieving them, apart from completing your region and getting some unique items available for purchase in the shop, it is still worth collecting the medals. You can collect these medals while you wait for something to happen, such as waiting for the Marigold to appear, or if you want to do something else in your region for a change. Regardless of the reason, you should take the time to collect these medals at some point, and they should not even take you long to collect.
