Well then, it's not exactly fair, because I was hit with a rocket and instantly killed. That was the answer to the bean bombs in GW1, so if they've toned down the damage factor of the beans, they should do it for the rpgs too.
And even the standard bean gave you at least some amount of time to get away. It never felt unfair in GW1, even playing as a zombie. But to make them this weak....what's the point????

The reason it was toned down because a peashooter could clear a area of zombie players who are capturing a garden in G&G with a single bomb while the foot solider's rocket would kill a single plant on a direct hit and splash damage nearby plants for a ok amount. Plus if you add in peashooters hyper and small body it would be almost impossible to stop them from setting off a bean bomb and shooting a few zombies before they go down. Plus with 4-5 peashooters who can clear a area with single attack on the plant side it would make it a very annoying process if the bean bomb still did its damage from gw1.

Even if they don't allow for a large blast radius on the beans anymore, they need to readjust the damage they do. When you get a bean next to a spinning Brainz and only see 4hit points come off you're asking yourself, "why do we even have these beans?"
As I said, even while playing as a zombie in GW1 when I saw a bean get dropped nearby, I knew instantly if I had time to get clear and remain in the fight, or if it was going to take me out, in which case I just said; "welp, I'm dead" but never did I feel that's not fair. I don't think anyone else did either, otherwise people would have made them change it.
There are a LOT of powerful characters to keep peas in check, even more so now with these new characters, so weakening peas like this was completely unnecessary. And negates much of why a pea is important, for the fact you can help clear out bases, even if the zombies all scattered out of the base to avoid dying it helps somewhat, but with the beans this weak, the zombies can literally just continue to stand their ground knowing that unless the bean lands right on top of them, they might feel a bit of sting, but otherwise be just fine.
