@ToastedSarnie It’s not unfair to co-star on a boss, and they actually advocate co-starring on whatever you’d like- from Parrot Pals to Rocket Bots. You can easily just deal damage to the Co-Star and take him out, and the Co-Star can’t manipulate where the boss decides to go at all. It helps on Preserve Pastures, but all of the plant artillery is focused on you and the Garg, so it’s not ridiculously unfair. I’d say it’s more unfair to co-star on a parrot pal since they can fly and have a player manipulating them.
Played and saw wizards often in the weekly last night. Riding a boss is actually a really bad idea as the bosses don't even try to take cover and the plant players are getting very good at taking you off host's heads. I tried riding a couple last night and gave up as I would get almost instantly shot off since the boss will just stand there while most players will get out of dodge in a hurry.
The zee-lixir can be handy but Chompers are already getting good at faking you out. It's such a short duration of effect that if a Chomper burrows close by and you use it, they can just wait it out and then devour your host, stunning you and making you vulnerable. If you wait instead they may chomp before it explodes and still swallow a teammate since the effect goes after the chomp starts.
I didn't see anyone use that independent co-star bug last night and I when I played wizard, I made sure to use the two headed dragon build to see if it would happen and never got it so no idea how it works, and hopefully it's fixed before someone finds out how to do reliably.
Speaking to what @Gormey mentioned, it was amusing to both be temporarily invulnerable and to vanquish wizards and friends right after it wears off as it's so brief. One time I was on a Peashooter and was hit by the elixir, I was unable to get out of there and of course vanquished. It will take some time to adjust to all the effects the wizard and other new characters will have on the game but forcing people to adapt and learn to new situations and tactics is never a bad thing.
Other fun encounters include a wizard trying to take a bunch of us out with spell disaster, vanquishing none of us as the orbs either missed or only injured a couple of us, and being immediately vanquished by my pea cannon. A lot of wizards seem to think their abilities makes them invincible and then they fall over easily as they really aren't that resilient when they aren't able to be a co-star. I did use co-star to jump to a teammate right before being vanquished to save my undead bacon at least once. Timing, placement, and cooldowns all really matter when playing a wizard, it matters to every character to varying degrees, but for wizard it's critical.
