Xbox 360 doesn't have enough memory to download Plants vs Zombies upgrade. Can't play without it.

I am very new to all this.  we have an xbox 360.  I joined xbox live and purchased via the xbox Plants Vs Zombies Garden Warfare over the weekend for his birthday.

I checked that the xbox had enough memory before I bought the game (it needed 2.5 GB) , we downloaded it rather than buying the disk.

The game will not play without me also downloading the Subordination upgrade, which requires another 1.57GB of space.  We barely have anything saved onto the Xbox (2.6GB of games in total, 520KB of profiles, 85kb pitures, 152kb system items) but even if i deleted everything else I don't think it would free up enough space to download the upgrade, without which he cannot play the game.

I tries XBox online chat, they said to use a flash drive, but i don't really understad how to do this.  Plus I think I've read online that games that require Xbox Live to play muct be stored on the hard drive to work.

any help would be very much appreciated!

  • Unfortunately it sounds like you have a 4gb hard drive, which by itself would be too small to be able to play Garden Warfare. Luckily we are able to use USB flash drives as hard drive space. Set up is explained here: http://support.xbox.com/en-CA/xbox-360/accessories/usb-flash-drive

After the flash drive is all set up and connected, when attempting to download the updates, there should be an option to change storage device; in which you select the flash drive.

Using this method, the USB drive must be in the Xbox in order to play Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare.

@OverclockdToastr     in case they can help.

I think you can delete the older DLC versions and then DL the Suburbination one.  Someone else can chime in with something more concrete
