Xbox 360 split screen?

I know there is currently no split screen option for the xbox 360, my question is, will there every be? Are the developers working on a split screen option or has any production on updates to 360 games been given up as a lost cause?

    It's doubtful there will be a split-screen for 360. When playing that mode on the One, you can kind of feel it's going slower than usual.

    With 360's default frame rate hovering around 20-30, you can imagine how poorly a split-screen would play.
