So if one side requires you to play as a team, while the other doesn't... doesn't that, in itself, indicate imbalance?
in my opinion. if the zombies stay together. it is both good and bad because the plants have loads of AoE attacks( chili bean, time bubble thing, goop,corn and butter stricks. husk cob and i think there are a few more) but if an imp calls a mech then it wont be taken down o easily by the opposing team, because its easier to take down a loner mech than a mech with his homies
