YouTube/Streamer Discussion

Krook, who is a busy PvZ shooter Reddit presence has a long video about the current state of the PvZ shooters, and it features Zack Scott, Zero, Wolfy, and many others. It's almost 3 hours but if you're a fan of the series I feel it's worth it. I listened to the whole thing and of course commented on it after watching. I highly recommend it for not just us players but to the PopCap/EA team especially as it shows how loyal the fanbase is and how ready they are for a new game that can perform better than BfN has.

Obviously, most of them prefer GW2 or GW1 over BfN, but they also acknowledge that some ideas BfN brought to us have merit too. The amount of time and effort put into this video just goes to show that PvZ is beloved by many across all age groups and we're all ready and looking forward to a new one in the not so distant future!

  • @Iron_Guard8 Thanks for sharing this. I'm definitely going to watch this later today. I enjoy Krook's videos and Reddit posts. They're entertaining and sometimes insightful.
  • A couple quick observations:

-At least one of the interviewees claimed GW2 was perfect. It may be more meant as hyperbole or praise, but even though GW2 is my favorite PvZ shooter, I'd never claim it's perfect. I was just on it a bit ago, getting quests done as we're off this week, and among other things we're still getting that turret bug where you jump into gatling, sunbeam, cannon rodeo, etc. mode and you're firing your normal weapon instead of the turret mode weapon. There's other stuff too, but GW2 for how great it is, isn't perfect.

-I really hope that seeing these various YouTubers, especially Zack Scott who has a few million subscribers, that PopCap/EA will see that these games get a lot of views on YouTube, and a lot of people are willing to give a new game try, even if a lot of people were unhappy with BfN.

-Some of the ideas BfN brought to the series DO have merit and while I expect a new game to be closer to the GW games rather than BfN, I do hope we see some of the more popular and better received aspects of the game brought to a new one.
