Yup, still stuck on wanting Text Chat up to this day

Well, 2 months ago, we got a new update, Trials of Gnomus, with new content for PVZ: GW2 (which i only discovered a couple weeks ago as i wasn't playing this game much since last spring). I saw that they added challenges for solo play which is nice (even though some have been complaining about the drop rate for the keys and i can somwhat understand) to unlock new characters to then play in multiplayer. Sadly though, this game still lack a very basic feature in multiplayer, on PC, that every other online shooters have had: text chat.

I mean, there is simply no arguments against it. EA has the tech to support it (battlefield series) and saying the game is "for kids" doesn't justify adding voice support but not chat support. I mean, on PC, there is simply no discussion going on as no one uses mics. The only time i hear mics is when people accidently turned it on or have it turned on and don't know about it. Sometimes, i feel like i could be playing with bots and the social interactions would be the same.

  • I agree, i just bought the game with Black Friday sales, and i was astonished to find no text chat. IN A MULTIPLAYER PC GAME IN 2016.

I just want to motivate my team, and tell them to revive the others, and STAND ON THE POINT. Seriously, I easily see 5 team members all around the point, and absolutely no one getting on it while it's being captured. And i'm serious when i say "AROUND", they're standing on the edge.

If only there was a way to tell them to defend it properly... and no, voice chat sucks. Most of players using their mics are arounds 11yo, i don't want to hear them, they only speak nonsense.

Really, how hard can it be for the dev team to implant this simple thing ?
