I do know all about that and I found out what the Zercranium orbs are and that they come out of the pipe that I couldn't break. But I don't know if the pipe can be broken and if so how it could be broken.
I might be incorrect but I believe that you are currently in a 'Demo" area designed to let you play around a bit while the game downloads to your system.
When you spawned Crazy Dave probably said something about how your coordinates were off by a few millions miles and how he'd pick you up after a Taco and a nap, and then he'd say something about how his nap is timed to your download percentage.
Basically it's a mission designed to keep you entertained until you can play the real game.

What you're seeing and reading there is alluding to the events which happen on the Herbal Assault map "Moon Base Z"
On that map the plants assault and the zombies defend and the map gradually expands as the plants capture areas. If the Plants reach the final area they square off against the Zombies in an event mini-game where each team needs to try to drop giant Zercranium Orbs down one of the openings with the zombies trying to power up the giant magnet while the plants try to overload it and cause it to explode. There's a standard 'capture' timer like with all the other areas along the way and as the countdown gets lower more and more Orbs drop down from above so that there will be multiple Orbs on the field.
When the timer runs out the team which dropped the most Orbs down their chute wins the match.
I don't think you can get any of that to start while you're in the demo phase of the game.
