Zombies have more innovative toys and are much stronger than the plants

It seems that EA seems to have forgotten about the plants when it comes to mp. I watch as the Zombies are faster and stronger than the plants and kick them around like rag dolls it gets very tiring when you are constantly picking yourself up off the ground after after being knocked around for the umpteenth time. Hey EA how about leveling out the playing field.

The Imps have a mec and can spin very fast and there are very few of the Zombies that don't move very fast or jump high. The plants are like snails and the weapons don't even compare to the Zombies weapons. I can tell you that I'm no four year old.

The imp may move fast but not that much faster compared to the rest and imps deal less damage using the impkata than just shooting normally. you'll rarely see the more pro player imps using it and most just use it for the auto aim in tense situations.

Aside from that all of the characters aside from the sunflower and scientist have the same movement speed. citron is the fastest moving character in the game while in his ball form (even without the speed boost) while the pea and goat would be the second with their hyper/speed boost abilities and the only zombie that jumps high is super brainz but there are 3 plants with some decently high jumps (rose, citron, pea)

As for the mech? it seems like people are always going to complain about it and i'm sure the people that do are usually the ones not using their abilities to even attack or focus on the mechs because they can be destroyed pretty quickly especially in open areas when at least 2-3 people are focusing on one.

  • While a lot of people will argue the point forever both the Plant and Zombie teams are decently balanced in terms of the overall pool of advantages and disadvantages available to each.

It's my personal belief that most people gain a belief that one teams is "weaker" or "stronger" not so much because of the classes involved but because of the individual skill and experience levels of the players on each team, how well those players can use their selected characters and the individual 1v1 match-ups they find themselves in.

Some classes are easily approachable by all ages and skill levels, like BBQ Corn for example while others have a high skill requirement, like Captain Squawk and there is also the factor that some characters work well overall while others work best in a particular niche and even within the same character class the variants can have a range of usefulness and ease of use; you can bring Bandit Cactus into a close range fight but you're crazy to try doing the same with the Camo Cactus.

Given that my person feeling is that the teams are balanced overall there are skill some 1v1 tactics which are clearly lopsided in favor of one character or the other; you don't stand toe-to-toe with a Torchwood with your basic Foot Soldier because you'll lose but triggering your ZPG behind cover and then stepping out during the firing animation to fire it at the same Torchwood at point blank range will give victory to the Foot Soldier. Tactics matter and using the wrong tactics can give you the impression that one team or character is more powerful than your own.

In the above scenario the Foot Soldier who keeps getting mowed down will complain about the Torchwood having too much Health or too much damage and call for Nerfs but the Torchwood getting repeatedly shot in the fact with ZPGs at close or point blank range will howl about how the ZPG is overpowered and needs a Nerf. I've been both the Torchwood mowing down the Zombies as well as the Foot Soldier killing the Torchwood over and over to the point of being cursed at in the lobby so I know that how you use your character has a huge impact on your success in the game.

If you read through the forums you'll find plenty of Zombie players complaining about how much more powerful the Plants are and the same number of Plants players complaining that they simply can't win against the superior Zombies.

It's less about what team you are on and more about how well you can use your character and what tactics you use with that character in the actual game.

  • You guys should have played Garden warfare 1. Now that's unbalanced. Plants almost never win. At least in 2 both plants and zombies have op variants.
