How to earn Crystals in Tri-Peaks Daily Challenge

Tri Peaks.   What is a 'crystal'?  how do i earn them for the day's challenge?

am now getting PLEASE SELECT A BOARD TO CONTINUE.  I HAVE TWO OPTIONS which i ASSUME are 'boards'.  i have chosen each of them separately and still get the error message.

    My bad.  My son says it's a bad habit of mine about not reading all the instructions carefully!  grin!  thanks!  judy

    @txslowmo ,The following information about the crystals was obtained from the "How to Play" tab of the Tri-Peaks Solitaire game.

    Keep your eyes on the colorful CRYSTALS above each peak. As you clear out cards, you’ll fill the crystal meters. Collect crystals to gain Ranks and earn Rank Badges.
