Possibility to recover old Pogo account? Unable to receive migration email
Hello EA/Pogo members, I just got off chat support whom were unable to assist me in the matter and was unable to help me escalate it to a higher technical department. As with many I'm sure, I had an old Pogo account with a Club Pogo membership back in the 2000's with a lot of history. Gems, badges, tokens, etc. Lost touch with it when I was unable to have more free time to play the games so my account went untouched and Club Pogo membership was cancelled. It wasn't until today I saw that EA is keeping Pogo alive and now I am very interested in getting back into it to relive the old days and some of the nostalgic games. I currently have an EA ID, but this ID is not the same as my old account that I am seeking to recover.
I read that accounts before the 2018 migration had to be signed in once during the migration period, however due to having an old AOL account which got disabled around the late 2000's, I never received notice of any migration period, and that I needed to sign in to keep that account. The chat support rep said that the old accounts aren't technically deleted from the system, it's just they can't recover it since it wasn't migrated and more than likely don't have the tools or permissions to do so through chat.
I am wondering if there's any technical support reps who roam these forums that could offer me some good news in recovering and possibly transferring my old Pogo account to this current account so that I can continue where I left off. If not, then that's devastating news and I will more than likely just have to take the loss and start over. I would love to see all my old badges and mini items that I had purchased with gems back in the day if that's even still possible.
If any support rep can assist me in the matter I'd greatly appreciate it if you can send me a message to my inbox so that I can provide you with my old login details and anything else that may be needed to help verify that it's my account. Thanks so much.
Hello and thanks for reaching out!
When EA migrated Pogo to the newer platform, every legacy account needed to be signed in at least once so it could be linked to an EA ID. Accounts that weren’t accessed during that window didn’t get migrated, and the old login system was fully retired.
Why the change
Back in the 2000s, Pogo games ran on Java and Flash. Those were like the “engines” that powered almost every online game on the internet during this time. Over the years, both basic Java and Flash became: Outdated, Security Risk and is now blocked by modern browsers. Every major browser removed this from public use. So, the old Pogo platform literally had no way to run anymore. This is also why most websites do not look the same they did a few years back.
Because the old technology was disappearing, EA couldn’t just “update” Pogo. They had to create a brand‑new website and a brand‑new account system that worked with modern technology. Pogo had to reinvent itself because the old platform simply couldn’t survive the retirement of Java and Flash. This shift in technology forced EA to rebuild Pogo on a completely different technical foundation, and that’s exactly why the account migration became such a hard cutoff.
This is also why the migration window mattered so much — it was the only time EA could map old accounts into the new EA ID system before the old infrastructure was shut down. This shift in technology was fascinating, if you would like to learn more you can search online for articles or videos about "Why Flash games disappeared" or "How browsers changed in the last decade".
Most people are unaware of how much browsers, the internet, and devices overall have changed and evolved. Today’s technology works very differently than it once did. There are far more systems, programs, and services communicating with one another behind the scenes. As of 2026 there is also another major technological shift happening that some refer to as the Fourth Industrial Revolution, a very transformative era driven by AI, automation, and next‑generation digital tools.
Moving Forward
"If any support rep can assist me in the matter I'd greatly appreciate it if you can send me a message to my inbox so that I can provide you with my old login details and anything else that may be needed to help verify that it's my account."
Here in the EA Pogo Forums, they are unable to help with specific account information due to being in a public space. EA Help, through their secure and private support channels, will be able to investigate this situation. If EA Help was unable to provide assistance, it is regrettable that older accounts may no longer be recoverable.
Good News 🎉You can log into Pogo with your EA ID and badges are plentiful! A casual player may earn 100–300 badges a year, a more dedicated player can easily earn 1,000+.
Pogo releases badges from many different sources throughout the year:
- Weekly Challenges
- Marathon Events
- Mix‑n‑Match badges (purchasable)
- Special Edition and Seasonal Events
- Club Time Reward badges (based on membership years)
- Game‑specific progression badges
- Collections and more!
The Pogo mini mall has changed slightly - everything is Free now and most of the original items were transferred over with a few new things 🙂
Thanks again for reaching out and glad to see you back!
