its true the skill level can be increased with play... however as you cannot choose your players its virtually impossible to reach an intermediate level at i'm guessing 1500 points

one of my latest games for example, i was ranked 1375, i played a game with a random player ranked in the 900's, i lost the game and lost 30 points, if i would have won the game i would have gained maybe 2 points, therefore u have to win 15 games for every loss to climb the ratings which is virtually impossible

the lobby system needs to come back so we can choose which players to play based on their ratings, this system is hopeless

the joy of the game is having a challenge to climb the ratings, which is now impossible, theres no point in playing the game until this is fixed

Hey there, @don1866.

When you create (host) a table on Canasta HD, you can restrict the rating of the opponents joining the game through the Create a Table settings screen. It's on the bottom portion of the Table Settings, as shown below:

the problem is ......

beginner level has a range of 0-1500, this range is too wide, everyone started on 1000, to get to 1500 is virtually impossible as if you are drawn against a player of 800 rating and you are lets say 1450, u would have to win maybe 25 games in a row to reach the intermediate level.

Anyone with a rating of 0-1500 will be randomly selected

if u have a lobby you would be able to see the table and choose the player based on their ratings

This information is not helpful as the problem is with the cut offs for beginner and intermediate.  That is what the problem is.  0-1500 being beginner has to be changed! You can not climb ladder that way!! I lost 30 pts in 1 game. Win and get only 5!  OH..............AND lets say I am going to play 4 player and my partner and I are both around 1200 rating and the other ones that join are 700.....crazy point loss and no way to control it because why??? If I select limit players and check beginnier my 1200 pt partner cant join me as they ARE yet a beginner at 1200!  Please change this system ALONG with being able to replace the computer if you get bumped from your table. 

Why do I lose soooo many points when I lose a game but only gain a few points if I win a Canasta match?????

What rating does intermediate level start at?

yes, we can exclude beginner, but no one is at intermediate level.  You have to make changes, I win 1 or 2 pts and lose 25-30, where is that being fair.  I work hard to win a game, even if in the ranked section you would allow us to set our own tables.  Not everyone likes the setting your stuck with in the section.  Come EA we pay to play, its getting to the point it's not enjoyable, and I don't want to keep paying for something that frustrates me. 

This is no help since you have to play low ratings. If you are 1200 and play someone 900 and lose, you lose big time points. The old way was more fair!!!

Exactly!! We pay for this mess!! It seems no one cares about canasta. There's no money in it for them. They only focus on the baby games!!!

Does anyone even pay attention to these threads anymore? I got up to the Intermediate only to get stuck playing low score people and get dragged back down to below 1000. This is BS!
