Forum Discussion
@pppp1960 Hey there, I'm sorry to hear you're not a fan of the new Scrabble, I'll be happy to pass on your feedback to the game team so we can continue to improve and provide a fun experience for everyone playing Pogo.
- 4 years ago@EA_Rtas Add another dissatisfied customer. I've been a yearly subscriber for 8 years, was an off and on subscriber several years prior to that. I gladly paid for Scrabble and Yahtzee because at the time both were very true to the classic board games. Yahtzee was not upgraded to the EA platform and now this fiasco means I will not pay $40 a year for this platform. It's simply not worth the money.
The new Scrabble looks like a cheap knock off now.- 4 years ago
The reason I have been a Pogo Subscriber since 2009 was for SCRABBLE
WHY DID YOU GO AND CHANGE A GOOD THING??????????
WHEN RENEWING YEARLY FEE COMES AROUND GOOD CHANCE I WILL NO LONGER BE A CLUB POGO MEMBER
- 4 years ago
I completely agree with you! Why would they change it? Was there some reason they could not use the other version any more? Terrible mistake. People will not be coming back!

Hi,
Are the comments in the forum where this is being discussed being passed along? You can count me in as someone paying for two memberships and about to cancel both.Thanks.

POGO IIS AN ELITIST SNOB THEY BAN POROPLE WHO CANNOT AFFORD THE MONTHLY FEES THE GAME SCRABBLE IS A JOKE NOW. THE NON PAYING GUESTS ARE GIVE A RIDICULOUS SET OF LETTERS NOT ALLOWING FOR PLAAYERS TO MAKE MORE THANB A FOUR LETTER WORD....POGO SUCKS!!!
- 4 years ago@EA_Rtas I too have been a Pogo subscriber for almost 15 years and cancelled my membership (is up on 7-4-21) over the total disregard that Pogo developers seem to have to their core group of avid users. The last straw was this new absolutely awful rendition of Scrabble one of the last truly playable games on this platform. Seems like if any true older generation gamer/designer would just play Scrabble, Pogo Slots, Snowbird Solitare, or Quins Aquarium they would understand the FRUSTRATION and not the relaxation most of us are looking for. I'm JUST DONE with this site.

I am also 'not a fan' of the new Scrabble. However, 'not a fan' does not begin to describe how I feel about it. I tried playing once and have already given my feedback about that awful experience. I won't play it again and am considering not renewing my membership. I'll see if POGO/EA responds. I would have thought a message about why, how, and future of it would appear in my inbox.
So to improve, here are some suggestions:
1. Immediately send an e-mail to all members about the why, how, and future
2. Stop downplaying your response to user's comments found both here and on the POGO forum
3. Keep this one and re-lable it for children
4. Create a version that is like the old version and call it for adults
5. Remember it is important to keep your users/customers happy.

Like your #4 suggestion to create a version like the old one and call it 'Adult'. Doubt it will happen but I like the idea!!! Wish someone on PLANET POGO would listen. HELLO, EARTH TO POGO...... is anyone out there?
- 4 years ago@ktarb50 That is the minimum of what they should do.

1. NSA ratings are gone. That is a major downgrade. My theory on that is that Pogo has decided to save money by not paying the NSA some sort of fee they charge to have the ratings.
2. Game mechanics have been dis-improved. Letter tiles do not land on the square where they are dropped unless the pointer is centered in the tile AND the tile is centered on the square before dropping it (just one or the other being centered is not enough). Also, the squares are smaller, which makes that issue worse.
3. The "Expert" bots (the highest level bots you have) are still awful players, as they have been ever since the Pogo Scrabble re-vamp before this one. I beat them every game. In the Pogo Scrabble game before the last one, the Expert level wasn't even the top bot level (there were 5 levels: Novice / Beginner / Intermediate / Expert / Master), but that earlier less-than-top-level Expert bot was a challenge to play, beating me most of the time. My own rating was Expert on that older game (due to the rating reset for the newer game, my rating on that hadn't risen to Expert yet).
4. I prefer to play the original game by the original "Traditional" rules. I think the Pogo "Classic" House rules were a good alternative game (especially for children, because the lexicon is censored). But I think that the new additional variations are completely unnecessary. I suppose I can get used to the additional weeding through the choices to find the "Traditional" button each session.
5. I didn't see any option to play a human (of similar skill or even random)! Has that been removed, too? That's another major downgrade.
6. I don't like having to "unlock" the normal-looking classic game board.
I want to play the classic game of Scrabble, against either a bot that is challenging or a human of similar skill to my own, with the NSA ratings, and without having to "unlock" a normal-looking board.
- 4 years ago@EA_Rtas You are kidding, right? Check the forum where HUNDREDS of paying members are complaining and will leave. Say goodbye to Pogo because nobody will pay to play this crap.
- 4 years ago@MollysMom05 I really think they are trying to go bankrupt for business purposes, POGO can go bankrupt without their whole company going bankrupt and it would make them money. And you don't have to be a genius to see what their spirit is, hard core make money at the cost to humans- the spirit of why the world is dying.

Nobody is listening to the customers about the new Scrabble. Hundreds of people have posted on the Forums but apparently it doesn't matter. It seems that the "moderators" only look to make sure we stick to the posting "rules" and never forward any comments or complaints to the developers. One of the moderators basically told us that. Hello? All of my posts have been removed or never posted because someone didn't like them. Since Scrabble was the only decent game left I have cancelled my membership, as I'm sure many others will do the same. I will always remember fondly the days of playing Boggle, Yahtzee, Scrabble and many others while chatting with my Pogo friends from all over the world. I even met friends from my home town. Nobody at Pogo/AE listens to any feedback about any of the games and the fun we used to have playing them. Not only are the games now horrible, chat is horrible too so very very few people use it. . It's like everything was done to purposely annoy us and drive us away. Good luck trying to find people who will pay to play these infantile games. You have lost your core customers, which were seniors. You know seniors - the ones who have the money to waste on things like this. I've cancelled. Goodbye. Good luck finding new jobs when this site goes under. You did it to yourselves.

The game is awful. I have asked many times if POGO Spike is even reading g our comments in the forums. In fact I guess I asked once too often because one of Mods deleted my post and told me I was violating the terms of service.

Why do we not hear from the 'game team' or EA management?
If EA is not going to heed our outcry, then at least let us know so we can make an informed decision about remaining a member of POGO.
I have noticed that the cartoon characters are becoming more prominent. So, is POGO going juvenile?
