I'm getting the same error message, and not getting the rent added.
But this only occurs when it's the rent for the 8th property.
The big problem is that you lose your entire overnight rents b/c the rent from the 8th property is part of the total. If it's during the day I only lose the rent from the 8th property, as long as I pay careful attention, but there's nothing I can do during the night. I'm losing a lost of rent then since I have the final tower on half of my properties, and multiple houses or hotels on the other 4 properties.

How hard are you "Investigating? How about an update? Seems like there are at least two problems, one involving Boardwalk after build and another perhaps involving a totals over 2,147,736,680.
As a programmer the second problem make me wonder about a variable full error.

Almost every time I log back in to play the game again I'm not able to collect my rent, this happened just a few minutes ago. Please see attached screen shot.
I am also stuck at 2,147,450. Have you also noticed that the total winnings, ( on the page that showed lifetime and weekly stats) is a negative and the more that ypu win, the lower it goes. The same negative appeared in Peggle, and it wasnt until it got to zero that the scores actually counted for anything.

Monopoly Soduko -- since I hit 2 billion 170 million etc I have not been credited with my offline rents - nor my daily treasure chest winnings for meeting or exceeding my daily challenge........and lastly -- when is the Airport level going to be ready ?
