Re: POGO BOWL: Disappearing Pins on lower end or over taxed machines
I've never experienced the disappearing ball/pin situation. This machine (computer) is plenty powerful. I can run Premium Bowling on Steam with no problems and the graphics there are much more CPU intensive.
My problem (as I've outline previously) is that each method of rolling sacrifices something necessary to duplicate shots.
I don't know who Beta tested Pogo Bowl HD but it wasn't league bowlers who spent, literally years, honing their games. I offered my services but was never taken up on the offer.
Here are some of the things I would have suggested prior to the game's debut in its current form:
The Classic option sacrifices the ball speed necessary for the necessary pin action. The Tap option sacrifices exact aiming.
Slow down the power meter on CLASSIC and/or, in TAP show the balls destination (with the dragging aiming arrow) before the ball has to be let go.
One of your solutions was: "Work to send your bowling ball with more time (more than 5 seconds) left on the timer"
How is that even possible?
In the Classic version the timer goes from "full" to "empty" in 2 seconds and in the tap version it goes from "full" to "empty" in 5 seconds.
In neither alernative is it even possible to send the ball with "more than 5 seconds on the timer".
The pin action could use some "tweaking" as well. Some of the splits are unrealistic and those that ARE "makeable" can't be converted because pin/ball interaction is lacking.
The chat layout is very unintuitive. Most of the time I end up in a chat room and none of the people in there are showing on my scoreboard because the names ofthe chat rooms have NOTHING to do with the names of the individual games being played at any given time.
This has ceased to be a game of skill where exactly reproducible shots rewards players with scores commensurate to their actual abilities. I devolved from a player with in excess of 500 perfect games to my credit games to one where a 225 is an abberationally high score.
Sorry to be so negative but I'm just relaying my experiences and those things about which I've heard repeated complaints from current users.
