Forum Discussion
I have been a dedicated Mayor since the initial launch in 2015, and I am writing to express my absolute frustration with the Services 2.0 update. This is, without question, the most damaging update in the game's 11-year history.
Betrayal of Legacy Players: After a decade of building a balanced, functional city, I am now "in the red" overnight. This isn't a challenge; it's a forced penalty on veteran players.
Insufficient Compensation: The Simoleons and "gifted" buildings provided are mathematically insufficient to restore a large-scale city to its previous 100% capacity.
The Simoleon Sink: Forcing us to pay for level upgrades for infrastructure that was already fully functional is unfair. It has destroyed my tax revenue and made progress impossible without draining millions in savings.
Turning a functional city into a "broken" one is not "new content"—it is a punishment for those of us who have supported this game from day one. Please address the balance issues for high-level cities immediately.

It is not just "a forced penalty on veteran players", it's worse than that: it's a betrayal of long-time players who painstakingly optimized their cities. Now, players have to change everything that previously worked almost perfectly. EA has managed to frustrate all SimCity BuildIt players to the max! The game rules were changed mid-game. That's called cheating!

00Feelgood00 100% agree.
Changing the whole design of services without grandfathering some aspects for years long players or providing enough compensation in-game is wrong, in bad faith and a form of cheating - cheating your customers who've engaged with your product for a decade+. The hubris and absolute lack of addressing players loud concerns is horrible. Some of the feedback in this thread has been very specific and constructive and pragmatic but they won't even acknowledge it.
Over a month and not a word from them. They only asked for feedback as a performative gesture. They will reap what they've sown.
