I'm having this issue too. It just started half an hour ago. Rebooted Ipad to no effect. Issue must be with the game server.
Yeah, I think so... now the games is opening bit it’s a bit slow.
Mine is working now
It is back up and running now.
- @Quik21silver I had the same issue but it started again for a few minutes ago. Dont delete the game or re installed you might lost the data's
It restarted on mine finally as well. Looks like there is something new starting soon. Probably overloading the game with too much to do. Hopefully it stays up and doesn't crash. Advice for any newcomers, always back the game up to google play or FB. You will never lose progress if this happens again.

EDIT: I combined all the reports for the date 2020-04-27, trying to keep them all in one place. Is this still an issue for anyone?
I raised this issue to the CMs. As far as we're aware, the EA game servers haven't gone down. I've asked it be escalated to be sure
I did hear Virgin Media in Ireland went down for a bit, but seems to be back up. Any chance this could have affected everyone?
Thanks for the tag @Penakyna 👍

??? Limit on selling war supplies? What limit? Obviously must have been from update. Know any way to find out more info?
@BlackjackWidow Might want to remind everyone that this is a forum and not monitored by EA. Our heros & mods can offer a lot of help but tech support isn't in their bags of tricks.
Serious issues like this should result in a ticket being filled out & sent to the Zen desk. Also be nice to know what platform everyone is on...hope it worked out for everyone.

Excellent point, @cricket4103 - Although posting on the Support forum can help to see if it's just a problem for you (so players can help with troubleshooting), once it becomes apparent that it is some system-wide failure, a support ticket to SimCity BuildIt Support request will get to the devs directly. The absolute quickest way is to check EAHelp on Twitter, to see if they've made an announcement. That being said, the forum is also a great place to highlight & provide information about issues, particularly application bugs. The CMs can escalate & monitor directly with the dev team.
Since there were a few people who said their game started working again, I'm hoping lack of response = no more issue. I'm still wondering if anyone was playing on the Virgin Media network, since there was no official report about EA servers
