An update for those that are following along:
I asked a series of questions to EA, namely:
Do they have a record of all my purchases?
Can they restore them?
When will this issue likely be resolved?
I was asked to submit a second ticket referencing the first. Sounds like multiple issues going on.

I asked about purchase’s also and was assured they can see everything I have bought.
however there is no timeframe on when we can except a solution to the error’s.

Cautious optimism— my current CoM progress and rewards have been restored! Still can’t find my club and all the other issues (see below) are not resolved, but this is a positive step.
1) All war cards are missing.2) I cannot see or rejoin my team.3) All sim cash is gone.4) All inventory items — including a large collection of war items, vu items and other inventory are gone.5) All simoleons are gone.6) All gold keys are gone7) All platinum keys are gone8) All omega cash is gone9) A large inventory of war boosters (jackpots, shields, duds, etc) are gone.10) All regions, their buildings and populations are gone. I had 4 regions unlocked and poured a significant amount of resources into them.11) All Omega storage items are gone.12) All previously earned Mayor’s Pass buildings are gone13) All buildings, parks, landscape items, etc that I had in storage are gone. This represents a significant amount of items that I earned through various Contest of Mayors passes (all purchased!) and other contests and events. - 3 years ago
Cash and keys are back — although is seems arbitrary amounts. More of some and less of others (especially gold keys)

I can access my city but cash simoleians gold keys platinum keys are not correct.mayors level is 1 no war cards vu missing airport and dock fully built but pop up saying to start building it
my 4 regions are also gone but friends can still see old version of my game with regions open before error.
8 days and still not sorted.
wondering if it ever will be.

Day 9 update. After a flurry of improvements and some items being restored the past 2 days have had no progress. Outstanding issues:
1) I cannot see my team nor join it
2) War items are not restored
3) War cards are not restored
4) Omega inventory was not restored
5) Main inventory was not restored
6) A handful of the most recent purchases (i.e. Mayor's Pass, Vu Pass) were restored. The vast majority -- dating back to CoM season 15, have not been restored.
7) My city still has a green repair hat that cannot be repaired (connection error every time I try)
8) I can see the cities of my Facebook friends (i.e. like Daniel), however, I cannot purchase items from their depot, even though I know items have been posted.
9) My depot has been reset from fully maximized to only the default 6 slots.
10) Since I've missed the past two CoM rounds due to this outage, I've been demoted from the Mega league down to the city League.
11) My Contest of Mayors rank has been reset to level 1 (I've since increased it to level 3 just doing some tasks)
12) I had a large stash (over 250) golden tickets, that's been reduced to 67
13) I was given a large amount of platinum keys (over 600) but a much smaller amount of golden keys (about 200), despite having close to 500 gold keys before this crash.
I'm sure there are more issues that I'm forgetting... trying to keep a running list. Hope others affected by this are getting better assistance in recovery than I am.

No change on my city still a mess I’ve not played as don’t see the point.
I doubt everything will return so I’m looking at retiring from the game.

Nothing to update on my end. I last heard from support Thursday so I'll contact them again either tomorrow or Thursday asking for an update. I've quit playing until this gets fixed, I hope it will be. Very disappointed as I've played since the beginning and I miss my club friends.

Wow! I'm so sorry to hear that Buster. Maybe try submitting a new support ticket or ask to be elevated to a higher level of support? It's not right for them to do nothing, both sides lose.

After 11 days of tickets and emails and support requests, they’ve informed me of the same thing. Despite previously acknowledging this was a technical issue on their part, EA’s “expert” has wrongly determined I was somehow cheating.
This is apparently rampant — EA is just killing off innocent cities saying they’re cheating.
Here’s one of many threads:
I’m continuing to send in ticket requests. I have too much time and real money (over $5100 in passes and offers purchased since June 2021) in this game. I have never cheated nor broke any rules.
@EA — this is so shameful and wrong. All I want is my city back and to go on playing the game I’ve come to love. If that’s not possible, I’m asking for my money back. ☹️—————-

I’m continuing to submit tickets until this can hopefully be resolved. Seems this support person is taking the easy way out and not actually helping.

Was it enough for the card before initialization?
My friend has also initialized the card. She is very worried that EA will restore the card properly. By the way, her magnet level was 15.

When they restored some of my purchases it was enough to get only a handful of disasters to level 1 or 2. I had all disasters unlocked, and most were level 7-11. I did get a reply 3 days ago (day 16!) saying they’re still working on it. I’m hoping this mess gets fixed soon. This is too long.

I have been in the same situation as you since June 21st. Out of the club, war cards reset, the same for mayors challenge. A really old city, years of honest play completely wasted. The same answers from the assistance. After years of playing against modified cities this treatment is really a hard blow to swallow.

I get a reply saying “as a player I can understand you’re frustration”. What a croc or swill 😡😡😡
happy to take money from honest players and do nothing when things go wrong except say you must have cheated 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

I have also been accused of cheating and this makes me very angry as I have been playing fair against those who cheat for years. I no longer have the city while they continue to play undisturbed. Dear EA, it is not fair to take on a problem that you have caused to many players by hiding behind the usual accusations of cheating. My city is reset after the crash of your servers as the error code sent several times !!
We deserve an answer and a solution. Please reply !

Wishful thinking but I was hoping to wake up this morning with the CoM season ended to find my city restored to the main server…. No such luck. It’s been 22 days and no resolution. Only to be initially told this was a server error, then to be falsely
accused to cheating, then to be told it was a server error and then last week to be restored for a few short hours, then sent back to the cheat server and told its a server error and that I need to be patient. It’s been over 3 weeks — really hard to be patient at this point.

I sent a follow up reply to the latest email asking me to be patient (I waited 4 days). EA's ticket system automatically created a new ticket on this email, meaning they closed (either intentionally or not) my original ticket. I'll continue to stay on top of this and will post what happens. Now on week 4... this madness has been going on since June 26th.
