At what stage would you level up?

I have been reading posts on the forum for a while now, and made the conscious decision to stop my levelling at 14 and to stay here for a little while whilst I sorted out my facilities, population, buy some essential buildings with my keys etc. I have decided to stay here for another week (I started playing in October) whilst working on my expansion and inventory, as I keep seeing posts from higher level players complaining over lack of expansion and inventory expansion items making their levelling really hard.

So my question is, how hard is it to max out your expansion and storage at higher levels, should I move on after this week and start my growth knowing I can get the items I need in the global market relatively easily? I am not a money spender, but I do trade a lot.

I currently have very little simoleons as I just invested in another park (peaceful)

Lvl 14 population 128K

Storage at 240 items out of a max of 350

Expansion, opened 16 out of 35

I got the deluxe sewage treatment plant, firestation and windmill, recycling centre, water pumping station, police precinct etc (I can handle another 70-90 houses before needing to reinvest)

I got my departments of education/library/college (no university yet)

Department of transportation, Bus terminal and 2 heliports

VU tower at lvl 4 (those remotes are hard to get)

Would you, if you were me, stay here a while longer than my current planned week, to work on the inventory and land expansions before hitting lvl 15 when the beach opens, and so will my airstrip? Or jump up to lvl 15 where I know my inventory will be filled with new items, and so will HQ so the expansion items I want might be harder to come by?

As you might have guessed, I am patient, and I am looking at the long game, not the short term goals.

If you go to level 15, all you see is beach parts (8 of 10 slots full of them). Thus it becomes harder to fend for expansion items.

Land expansion still comes, but it gets crowded out a lot more by the larger variety of items available in the store as you go up. I would not go past lvl 18 if you want to fully expand the map in less than 6 months (took me slightly less than 2 months, I camped at level 12/13/14 for a long time).

You can open the Airport and VU without going to level 15. Just use population boosting buildings to get the required threshold (education - university, entertainment - ferris wheel, transpo - helipad)

My mini city is level 19 (started 2 weeks ago I think, 120k population, 210 storage), and I don't see many Beach/Vu/Storage/Land parts in the GTHQ. On average I see 2 of those parts each time out of 20 listed items.

When the last update came out, there was a flood of beach parts in GTHQ, but it seems Daniel bought most of them, and they soon became rare items again.

The items you'll see will still depend on what the seller is advertising, you just won't see the higher level items that were advertised.

My level 53 city maxed beach since the update came out, as well as increased storage from 250 to 350, and also maxed land. I don't think increasing your level a few times will affect your GTHQ that much.

It doesn't matter how long you wait, you'll always run out of simoleons as soon as you start to climb levels lol. You have to stay active and constantly produce industrial/commercial, and sell on GTHQ (full price) just to stay afloat.

    Edit:

Level 17 is a good place to start making serious Simoleons.

Mass produce Nails, grass, and Flour Bags (unlocks at 17), and sell for full price on GTHQ, they have very good profits.
