"Black Friday Stampede" style trading system - COMPLETELY broken

It doesnt even take a 5 year old to realize how broken the global trading system in this game is.

1. Every time you click to purchase an item, the game forces you to visit the seller's city. Are you serious? Do we really need to sit through a blue loading screen for every time we want to buy something? Why cant they design the system like World of Warcrafts auction house where simple one click can purchase the item directly?

2. Reason #1 wont be a problem if it wasnt for this one. 95% of the time you wish to purchase something, the item won't even exist on the other player's shop. For god knows what reason, the trade HQ loves to advertise for item that has already been sold moments ago. Often times you will be visiting other players city to find COMPLETELY empty inventory. In order to even make a single purchase, you need to sit through that sickening loading screen 20 times! That is 300 seconds of staring at a blue screen and loading bar that took you to even SEE an item you need appear on the shop.

3. After you sit through 20 blue screens you finally manage to see a shop with NON EMPTY shop inventory, GASP! You want to thank Jesus, Mohammad, Buddha or whatever religion you believe in for this miracle to have happened, but you cant because you have to CLICK THAT ITEM INSTANTLY before some other bloke grabs it! Then VOILA! The dreaded popup shows you to tell you that item you clicked on no longer exists. Agshdjajdisndjdkekwjdbddjwj!

4. Lastly there is zero option to search for or filter specific results. Do you need to find a specific manufactured item to complete your upgrade? GOOD LUCK! All you will find is endless lists of dozer parts, locks, and cameras. On the one in a million chance you do run into an item you need, I'm sure you wont even be able to buy it!

For all these reasons, trading in this game is infinitely more stressful than losing all your assets while day trading in stock market

For love of god, why doesnt EA introduce improved trading system that
1. Does NOT force you to visit other players city
2. PROMPTLY remove items that have been sold every time player refresh the trade window
3. Allows for search / filter?

Let me illustrate how broken the trade system is

If you want to buy a specific item - let's use seeds as example, you would NEVER want to visit a city advertising to be selling seed.

Why? Because 95% chance some bloke probably bought out all the seeds in that city already.

If you want to buy seed, you would rather visit a shop that's advertising plastic or minerals instead, hoping that the seller by chance also have seeds in the inventory, and the buyers rushed to buy out plastics or minerals already while leaving seeds untouched.

Even if you see an item listing blatantly advertising to your face to be selling seeds, do not be tempted to click on it. It is either a) not there by the time you get there or b) disappear in front of your eyes as you confront the dreaded "item no longer available" sign laughing at you. Just click the plastic listing next to it.

Here you have it folks - if you want to buy a specific item, never go to a shop advertising that item. Go to a shop selling similar item and cross your fingers hoping your item is there. You have a better chance (>5%) that way.

Illogical as this nonsense sounds, this appears to be the only sound solution to navigate through the broken "Black Friday Stampede" style trade system they have. This is seriously messed up.

there is also a post about this in the support part of this forum, and lots of people did react..
except someone of EA..they dont.. they only do react on posts with questions about lost stuff.. so they choose not to react..

everybody hates the current situation, but the people who can do something about it apparently not.. #boohoo

A good addition to the global trade HQ functionality would be a search option..
let people search for the resource they need.. which could be easily achieved with some icons of the product needed.. click on it and get only all available items of that kind.. and add an icon for 'new stuff' where all the new items are listed.. as is the current working..

this will automatically solve the 'old items get lost' problem, because choosing for just one product, also all old listed items would be shown and not just the new ones..

problems solved.. now just build it in the game 😕mileywink:
  • A lack of a EA rep replying to a thread doesn't mean lack of caring or action. Assuming, in the context of a game that is both played on tablets and phones, they would change the feature it will take some time to design a change before coding and then implementing it. Then factor in any other fixes and content priorities that may be more pressing than an overhaul of the system. In other words I don't expect to see anything change in the immediate to near future. My opinion would have been to leave the system out of the game in the first place to come up with something better. Unfortunately the system is there now and removing it completely to do so would be a mistake.

    1) WOW auction is not best example of trading platform as it is exactly same useless junk

    2) EA games don't change in this, so deal with it. They have to have some EA guidance for this because it is statistically improbable so many developers being that dumb to introduce system seen in this game

Good trading system can be seen in EVE Online and newly on Steam Market (for generic items). And it resembles the system used for stock market. Easier one to implement. Powerfull for trading. It introduces buy/sell orders for any amount and price.

One chooses commodity and see amounts others want to buy or sell. There is no info on how many who is selling. All you see is how many for what price is available, merged together. You just place an order for an amount and price and wait until someone place opposite order for the same price.

It's terribly easy to code, easy to handle, and it covers all needs for buying or selling items.

  • Yes EVE system is the same kind of system seen in GW2. I've never seen or heard of a better trading system available in any other game right now. You get to see all that is for sale everywhere all in one place. No hunting for someone selling the specific thing you are looking for. Sometimes I wonder if those behind the scenes on these things do research to see what is best before they move into the design and code stages of development. Not trying to be harsh to the devs of this game but more of a general observance because it happens in a lot of new titles that come out that have poor design in one or more features.
  • This is completely working as intended and here is why

1 > This increases the chance the item is no longer there when you get there and I will explain this in 2.

2> Since the item is no longer there you are more likely to get frustrated and then potentially use the greens to fill the required need or refresh the required item speed up

    3> same reason as 2

4> same reason as 2 really

I saw someone coment about the gold cap and that removing it would be solving the problem. This would also imply you would get plenty of gold to progress in game, meaning you would spend les greens on items which is opposite of the marketing model.

Games like this are ment to frustrate you into buying for real life money. The solution is not to ask for change, it is to stop playing games like this and stop making it rewarding for EA. It is the worst garbage in history of game design.
