The morning after war hangover. War assignments are now appearing as COM tasks. Mayors in my club are increasingly unhappy for the multitude of reasons I posted yesterday. We are NOT here to play war. We are here to relax and be creative and build cities that we enjoy. Club Namaste formally requests withdraw this functionality or provide an easy opt out for each club president.

The spam needs to stop. Seriously. I HAVE to click through the rewards screen even though I didn't participate, I keep getting 'war news' updates that I don't care for, but have to click through if I want to be able to access my club chat.. it's just way too INVASIVE a feature if you're not interested in it (plus the contest assignments).
I don't participate because I just don't have the storage pace or money to get the 25 items I need to get enough points to get the rewards in the first place. My city got attacked... didn't mind it too much, I got paid more than the resources it took to fix it cost.. but really, it's a waste of Simoleons, resources, time, and storage, to participate in that war in the first place... but you can't just opt out and forget it's there.
And yeah, I have no interest in war games, or I'd be playing one.
- I understand your argument and there is a lot of tweeking that should be done to improve the war game addition.
Our club works as a team to distribute the war items that apply to each others attacks, all items can be used by distributing them throughout club members.
This is truly a team activity designed to get club members communicating and working together. Our club has almost mastered this concept to the extent that we have become a Simnation. No more waiting to build items and Simolions flow is through the roof without having to use GH. It took time using the chat to get the ball rolling but this mutiplayer game of chess is a blast if you work at it.
