I have read through this thread and the overwhelming feedback is negative, but if you go back and read other threads the anticipation was also overwhelming. I understand and clearly appreciate the sentiments and genuine concern shared throughout this thread. I’m not interested in getting into a moral or political conversation - my goal is to offer a potential solution to the dilemma EA is faced with. Remove the ability to start a war from the tutorial and provide a button for the President and VP’s that allows those who choose to engage in battle to join the fray - do not put cities in harms way (put the shield over them) that elect not to play. If your club collectively chooses not to participate then don’t press the button and focus on the parts of the game you and your club enjoys.
I would suggest that EA research an alternative to war - the Expo suggestion has true merit or perhaps some type of olympics that allows clubs to interact which is the intent of the war games. This would provide a positive choice to folks and help retain mayors and revenue generated through advertising which is the crux of the business decision. Thanks.
