Let me step back for a moment and share a couple of things, unlike many ours is a mayor’s club that enjoys participating in the war games and we certainly are not a war club...we elect to participate in one war per week and it is strictly on a voluntary basis. We differ from many clubs because everything is voluntary, no daily bedtime checks, no threats of you must score so many points, nothing is “mandatory” or “compulsory”, we do not have feeder cities or feeder clubs and do not allow “rental” players to come in and play. We simply treat each other with respect and as adults and maintain a safe and encouraging environment. How do we do it, by having great people that actually care about each other.
That being said we have some fierce competitors that very much look forward to Thursday nights when one of the VP’s initiates war...we enter every battle with every intention to be respectful to our opponent and offer them a strong and competitive match and we certainly come to win. We coordinate our efforts and recognize there are only so many targets in a war game and plan accordingly.
With that backdrop, you never take your foot off the gas in competitive situations...The problem is too many folks are just focused on winning and not competing and will resort to a bubble and hide...my attitude is please hit me hard and often and rest well assured I will repay your kindness, I make a point to wish my opponents President (my counterpart) a pleasant good morning in hopes they’ll wish me a pleasant day.
The problem is there are competitors and there are participants...competitors come to play and lay it on the line and winning or losing is only a by product...participants come only to win at any cost simply to move up in the rankings...if you’re afraid to compete stay home. Turtle teams are quickly ruining this game...
I will readily concede you do have a good point, it is the team’s responsibility that you are not given the opportunity to bubble with the lead...but the problem is there are clubs with 25 members that choose to bubble as well. As far as number of members in a club is concerned 25 was the max setup by EA and it could have been anything...personally I have absolutely no intention of telling folks I’m kicking them out because the max has changed because folks can’t recruit or burned too many bridges. In fact, I would like to see EA limit the participation of a mayor to only one club per week which might help address your farming issue.
I challenge you to be creative and find another way to win. If you do you might find recruiting and retaining members much simpler. Just food for thought...
