11 years agoNOTE: Some of you may be having problems downloading LINE for iPad. I just tried upgrading and it wouldn't let me open the app so I reinstalled the old iPhone version (which is compatible with iPad).
If this happens to you just dump the ipad app and I recommend closing all open apps (double tap HOME button and swipe up any open apps to close them) then hard reset your device (hold POWER and HOME button until device shuts down).
Then go to the AppStore (android users go to the market..this is usefull for you as well). Search "line chat" (its a green app icon that says LINE). Instead of downloading the app, visit the Developer Website. It may be tricky to navigate but once there you should be able to tap on the top left of the screen where it says LINE (theres no visible indication of where to tap really).
Then it will direct you to the main page where you can tap on "downloads". This will bring up a list of all operating systems supported by LINE. Tap on your desired operating system and it will direct your device to your respective market or App Store and the proper version of LINE for your device.
Here's a direct link to the developer website download page http://line.me/en-US/download its safe, once you choose your platform/device version for install it will redirect you to your App Store/Market
However iPad users please note...the iPad version is not yet available on the developer website apparently. So just install the iPhone version and you'll be fine.
Hope this works for everyone 🙂
UPDATE FOR IPAD USERS: The in app message board feature does NOT work if using LINE for iPad. As we rely on the message board for leaving permanent posts with important information I reccomend that you do NOT install the iPad version but rather install the iPhone version which works just as good. If you cant find the iPhone version in the App Store please follow the instructions above to retrieve it from the developer website. Thx
