I just want to drop in and give my 2 cents so that you all understand some very important issues about those with complaints and those that don't understand what the problem is. First and foremost, your individual contest experience is first and foremost totally dependant upon your city level. I know this because #1 I am smart enough to know that those that think the contest is great and have no problems are typically cities under level 40. Don't believe me? Well then go back and look at those complaining that it's rigged, all over level 70, the higher the city level the more the complaints. And of course #2 - I have 2 cities. One low level and my main is level 76. And I can tell you right now, the contest is rigged. My low level city only needs to complete 2-3 assignments per week to not only be promoted but to finish in the top 5-20 (depending on the league) but to reap massive rewards. And In complete contrast, my level 76 village was this past week in the Metro league. With 1 day to go in the contest I was in 1st place with a 2090 average assignment value, I only did the highest level assignments. By the time the contest was finished I would have finished outside the top 40 if I did not burn golden tickets. I only burned golden tickets to see if I had a chance to get into the top 10. I burned 2 - both 1680 assignments which were the highest value assignments I had. Instead I finished 26th, 8,000 points behind #10. Doing only the highest point value assignments plus adding in golden tickets, I never had a chance to compete. That is the problem that everyone has, they spend a lot of time doing horrible assignments that take a massive resource and time sink only to get nothing out of their efforts. As a special note i will tell you that of the 10 cities that finished in the top 10, not a single one of them was in the top 20 within 12 hours of the contest finish. Forgive me for saying it, but that is a consistent theme amongst high level cities. How is it that my Clan of 20 members all reports that not a single top 10 finisher was even remotely close to sniffing the top 20 with less than 12 hours left in the contest? It happens every single week. How are they getting massive assignments and everyone else isn't? The contest is rigged and anyone that argues otherwise is simply misinformed. I have never finished in the top 5 - ever. To do max value assignments and never finish in the top 5 tells you something. And how is it that a Chinese player has 80,000 after the contest is less than 10 minutes old? Seriously - wake up and see the truth.
He knows what's going on here.
Hold on here a minute, Sparky. My comments are directed to lazywaste1 as I would like some clarification on some of these statements. First, are these your opinions or have they been researched and verified, and if so by whom? Are you even qualified to formulate a hypothesis concerning how code is written and which algorithms EA uses for this game. How large is your sample size of cities above and below level 40 that you used to reach these conclusions? Or really is it just a guess based on your experience with your 2 cities? Are you even in the computer or gaming industry where you could be considered an expert or even knowledgeable above the level of hobbyist? You state that you are smart enough to make these statements, what are you basing that perception on? And if in fact, the contest is rigged, by whom is doing the rigging? EA? Hackers? What would be the motivation for EA to rig this? Why would they want to make a handful of people happy at the expense of the millions who would be upset and possibly quit playing? That is not a business model that would succeed in the marketplace. I'm not an expert but it seems to me that a game producer would need people to play their game in order to survive. I too am at level 76 and I have not experienced everything you are claiming. And even if the game is rigged, so what? What do you hope to accomplish by making it known to everyone? If you are really bothered by it, you have a powerful tool at your disposal to combat it and send a message to EA.. you can quit playing. Maybe you are trying to incite others to join you in your protest of EA?
Lastly, your comment about a player having 80,000 in less than 10 minutes, could that be a slight exaggeration? I find that impossible even if you had all the pieces to complete enough tasks, I don't think the game could register it that fast.
Could all of your observations be prone to exaggeration?
I am am not trying to argue or insult anyone here, in light of the actions which occurred today. I am very interested in your comments, especially if they are valid. The problem is that human beings will believe 38% of what we read and only 7% of what we hear. So 1/3 of the people who read your post are going to believe it's true, and that's dangerous
Happy trails...
