Don't buy Vu's Random Generator building - major disappointment

I also messaged EA's customer support about this. I wrote them:

"I feel like i just been scammed by the game. I was collecting sim bucks for what feels like forever, because i wanted to purchase the Vu's Random Generator. I thought it was gonna generate Vu items like the name suggests, only to find out i actually spent 2000 sim bucks on a simple commercial store that just changes randomly. I didn't know that i was purchasing tha since the building didn't have a description, i could only guess by the name that its a Vu item generator (what else could it possibly be?) which it wasn't.

Im extremely disappointed i can't express it enough. 2K bucks just went to the trash!

The Vu Generator building is not refundable in game play. I don't want it. I want my 2K back. I really feel scammed im extremely sad and disappointed"

EA responded with this: (basically saying they can't refund me and that's it)

"Hi Mayor, thanks for reaching out to EA! I hope you are doing well.

I do gather that you want to provide us with your valuable feedback regarding Vi's generator. Be assured, that I will address your concern today.

What I am going to do is, I will take this as feedback as it will be forwarded to the concerned team. I hope they take a look into this and make things better in the upcoming time.

Also, I would suggest you join our community and share your views regarding this. Our developers closely examine the views of players.

If there is anything else you require assistance with, please contact us at EA help and we would be glad to help you further "

Im just so mad right now and frustrated....its 2000 sim bucks for god's sake! Like spending your lifetime saving on a piece of extremely overpriced piece of useless trash. ☹️ ☹️

@annakesselman In my game, Vu's Random Generator has a description saying: "Mimics an existing commercial building, changes every 24 hours."

It is quite expensive, but if you don't manage to return it, it can still be helpful for Contest of Mayors and earning Simoleons, as well as extra productions. The only buildings that generate Vu items are Maxis Manor and Maxis HQ (which was a limited-time building).

Before purchasing it there was no description. It was blank. The description appeared only after the purchase, which is super unfair...
Anyway, since owning it i didn't find it very useful for me ☹️ still a waist of money

If you want something that gives you Vu items, the building you need is the Maxis Manor.
The Vu Random Generator is actually a highly useful building, especially on days it mimics the grocery shop. You can mass produce even more meat to use in burger farming.

The only thing that was unexpected and therefore upsetting for me was the price of additional slots. The first one was 80 simcash, the second one is 140 simcash, … I knew the generator would mimick one of my stores - and in that it meets my expectations.

The generator actually sounds useful ,however you need the Tower to get it and I am a pacifist mayor (except for swatting the squid monsters). When my husband and I first played the original Simcity ,I would build a city and he was the one who trashed it with disasters.
Anyway, if you have the generator already, keep it and maybe put it to use later on.

@f2aj5m0efycy You don't need to make beef for burger farming. Just buy the burgers and wait for the offers. There's a tutorial on YouTube

@annakesselman Maxis Manor is £2000 sim cash and does give you Vu items but not free. You have to buy them for around 1700 simoleons - so it's not useful, unless you're desperate and you don't have any team /friends that will sell them to you. . It just means you need less space for police, fire, hospital cover. Its one Small building rather than the 3 large police, fire, hospitals.

Yeah i know that... though that the vu generator would be similar given its name.

@annakesselman You should know by now anything new it the game needs to be researched before going for it. I like the Vu Generator and use it almost everyday. Yes, it is pricey, but pays for it's self in the long run.

@alifie1 While it was somewhat painful and took extra time to get all 11 slots open, I'm glad I did it.
